   Bekanntlich werden ultraviolette Strahlen zu   Heilzwecken   und zur Beschleunigung biologischer und   ähnlicher   Prozesse verwendet. Zwecks Ausnutzung der Wirkung solcher Strahlen wurden die kranken Stellen des Organismus bzw. die betreffende Pflanze bisher damit unmittelbar bestrahlt. 



   Es ist nun beobachtet worden, dass, statt der unmittelbaren Bestrahlung mit ultravioletten Strahlen, die erkrankten Stellen des Organismus bzw. die Pflanzen mit Vorteil der Wirkung eines Stromes von vorher mit ultravioletten Strahlen bestrahlter Luft ausgesetzt werden können. 



   Zur Bestrahlung der Luft in der beschriebenen Weise können etwa die auf der beifolgenden Zeiehnung in Fig. 1 und 2 im Längsschnitt dargestellten Vorrichtungen dienen, wobei die   Ausführungsform   nach Fig. 1 sieh von derjenigen nach Fig. 2 nur unwesentlich unterscheidet. 



   Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einem Rohr C, durch welches die Luft in der Pfeilrichtung   hindurch-   strömt (z. B. hindurehgeblasen wird) und welches mit einer Quelle ultravioletter Strahlen, z. B. in der Gestalt von Quecksilberlampen   J.   (Fig. 1) bzw. B (Fig. 2) versehen ist. Den Quecksilberlampen wird der elektrische Strom in bekannter Weise   zugeführt.   



   Die Ergebnisse, die bei der Behandlung mittels mit ultravioletten Strahlen bestrahlter Luft erzielt werden, sind   ginstiger,   als diejenigen, die bei unmittelbarer Bestrahlung zu verzeichnen sind. Ausserdem ist jedoch die neue Behandlungsart in vielen Fällen bequemer.

   It is well known that ultraviolet rays are used for medicinal purposes and to accelerate biological and similar processes. In order to utilize the effect of such rays, the diseased areas of the organism or the plant in question have so far been directly irradiated.



   It has now been observed that, instead of direct exposure to ultraviolet rays, the diseased areas of the organism or the plants can advantageously be exposed to the action of a current of air previously irradiated with ultraviolet rays.



   For irradiating the air in the manner described, for example, the devices shown in longitudinal section on the following drawing in FIGS. 1 and 2 can be used, the embodiment according to FIG. 1 differing only insignificantly from that according to FIG.



   The device consists of a tube C through which the air flows in the direction of the arrow (e.g. blown through) and which is connected to a source of ultraviolet rays, e.g. B. in the form of mercury lamps J. (Fig. 1) or B (Fig. 2) is provided. The electric current is supplied to the mercury lamps in a known manner.



   The results obtained with treatment with air irradiated with ultraviolet rays are more favorable than those obtained with direct irradiation. In addition, however, the new type of treatment is more convenient in many cases.
