Multi-phase circuit breaker with Julleiter switch lever.

The Austrian patent no. 121205 relates to a multi-phase circuit breaker with overcurrent or zero voltage releases in each phase, the operating lever of which all have a trip-free release and can be switched off independently of the other phases by their associated release. With such switches, the neutral conductor is usually also passed through the switch. The neutral switch lever, like the phase switch lever, can be switched off individually. There is now the possibility that when the phases are switched on, the neutral switching lever may not be switched on for any reason, for example due to operating errors or failure of the switching mechanism, or that it is switched off alone when the phases are switched on.

This means that individual devices connected between phase and neutral can receive overvoltage, which can damage or destroy them.

In Fig. 1 of the drawing, a circuit diagram for a three-phase network is shown. The secondary side of transformer a is star-connected. The phase voltage of transformer a is, for example, 220 volts and the line voltage is 380 volts. The phases are designated R, S, T and the neutral conductor 0. The switch b consists of the phase switch levers c, d and e and the neutral switch lever f. For example, a 50-watt lamp g is switched on between phase S and neutral conductor 0 and a 500-watt lamp h is switched on between phase T and neutral conductor 0.

If, as FIG. 2 shows, the neutral switch lever f is not switched on when the phase switch levers c, d and e are switched on, the current runs from phase S via phase switch lever d, lamp g, lamp h and phase switch lever e to phase T. back. There is a voltage of 380 volts between phases S and T. With the assumed conditions, the 50 watt lamp g receives a voltage of about 345 volts when the neutral conductor is switched off. Since it is only built for a voltage of 220 volts, it is destroyed at the high voltage.

In order to avoid damage to electrical equipment if the neutral conductor is not switched on, the switch according to the Austrian patent no. 121205 is designed according to the invention in such a way that the phase switching levers are automatically switched off when the neutral switching lever is switched off and that they can only be switched on when at the same time the neutral switch lever is switched on. For this purpose, the neutral switch lever is locked with the phase switch lever, u. between the neutral switch lever is provided with a cam, a lever or the like, which inevitably switches off the phase switch lever when the neutral conductor is switched off alone and prevents the phase switch lever from being switched on without the neutral switch lever when the switch is switched off.

In Fig. 3 of the drawing, an embodiment of such a locking arrangement is shown. The switch b consists of the phase switch levers c, d and e and the neutral switch lever f.

Each gear lever is separated from the other gear levers by the trigger of its phase.

The switching shaft i is provided with a projection k and is under the action of a spring! The neutral switch lever f is provided with a cam m which, when the neutral conductor is switched off, presses on a lever o rotatably mounted in n, which in turn operates on the lever p. The lever p is connected to the handle q and is under the action of a spring r. In the switched-on position of the switch, the bent end s of the lever p engages behind the projection k of the switching shaft i. Will the

released and actuated by the spring z. So the switch is turned off. The situation is similar when trying to switch on the phase control lever without the neutral control lever.

Since the bent end s of the lever p does not reach behind the projection 7c of the control shaft i, the control shaft i is not detected when the handle q is operated. Switching on the phase switching lever without the neutral switching lever is therefore not possible. The phases can only be switched on when the neutral switching lever s is switched on, so that the cam m releases the lever o and the spring r pulls the bent end s of the lever p behind the projection k of the switching shaft i. The contact of the neutral conductor can expediently be designed in a manner known per se in such a way that the neutral switch lever closes the contact rather than the phases when the switch is switched on and that the phases are switched off earlier than the neutral conductor when the switch is switched off. This increases the security sought.
