The invention is illustrated in the drawing. Therein: FIG. 1 shows a comparative representation of the hysteresis sole, which arises when a subsequent measurement of a material that has only been decarburized and a material treated according to the invention. FIG. 2 shows a comparative overview of the effective permeability at different H of the two hysteresis loops of FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows an enlarged representation of the course of AB with cyclically variable AH.

Fig. 1 shows two hysteresis loops, of which curve 7 relates to material that has only been decarburized, and curve 11 to a material which is oxidized after decarburization. In order to emphasize the characteristic properties of the curves, they should be compared for two values of the field strengths H 'and T? ". As a result of the alternating currents, cyclical changes AH arise around both

 EMI2.2

 EMI2.3
The values' and H '' show that this angle differs greatly for curve 1 and slightly different for curve 11. In FIG. 3, the changes B for large and small amplitudes of AH are plotted.

It can be seen that the effective permeability for curve J depends sharply on the amplitude and for curve II it has little effect
 EMI2.4
it results that with curve 1 these angles show much greater differences than with curve 11.

In FIG. 2, the various values of effective permeability for each point on the hysteresis loop are measured and plotted as a function of H. This graphic representation clearly shows how the effective permeability of material J is strongly dependent on the field strength H, and that of material 77 is little.

PATENT-ANSPRUCH : 1. EMI2.5 PATENT CLAIM: 1. A method for the oxidizing treatment of magnetic material in plate form, e.g. B. a nickel-iron alloy with 40% nickel, characterized in that the material is largely decarburized, subsequently or simultaneously with the decarburization in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at a temperature of 700-920 C to complete softening and then also annealed in a Oxygen-containing atmosphere is cooled, so that the effective permeability, measured at points of the hysteresis loop, which correspond to different diverging values of the magnetic field strength, results in large and little different values.
