 rohren in Verbindung steht.

   Das durch die Abkühlung des Heizdampfes sich bildende Kondenswasser muss entfernt werden ; diesem Zweck dienen die   Schöpfer/t,   die Rohre t und das in der Hohlwelle   cl   befindliche Rohr e, in welches die Rohre t mit ihren inneren Enden münden. Der Vorgang der Ableitung des Kondenswasser ist dabei so, dass das in dem Hohlring c nach unten strebende Wasser zwischen je zwei benachbarten Schöpfern h durch den jeweils unten liegenden Schöpfer aufgefangen wird ;

Traveling grate with agitator behind the filling chute.

Traveling grates with agitators behind the filling chute are known. In these known systems, stirring bodies in the form of narrow blades are used, which are arranged offset to one another on a common shaft and rotate in the direction opposite to the conveying direction of the grate. The purpose of these agitators is to create trough-like depressions in the carbon layer, which are intended to facilitate the passage of air through the grate from below. Such stirring devices have a number of deficiencies.

Because the layer of the material to be burned is designed to be uneven, the incineration must also be uneven, i. H. at the by the shovels
 EMI1.1
permanent or emerging increases; There is also no loosening of the combustion material that promotes combustion, especially not when using washing semolina, which has the property of compacting itself in the accumulation next to each depression.

This phenomenon is noticeable all the more harmful, as even before the shovels take effect, as a result of the compression that hinders the air passage, that the material is jammed as a result of the paddle rotation in the opposite direction to the transport direction, especially when the speed of rotation of the paddles is greater is than the speed of the rust.

According to the invention, these disadvantages are eliminated in that the agitator bodies consist of discs inclined to the axis, which rotate in the direction of the conveying direction of the grate and work like a rolling mill. The incineration material is not processed and designed on one side at certain points and therefore unevenly; rather, the fact that the disks constantly engage in the incineration material and, due to their position inclined to the axis, change this engagement between two limit positions in an oscillating manner, ensures that the material to be loosened is worked through evenly The material to be burned takes place without the cross-section of the coal strip to be conveyed undergoing a deformation which would impair uniform combustion.

Because the disks rotate in the direction of the conveying direction of the grate, there is also no accumulation or compression of the coal material.

The agitator disks suitably have an elliptical shape, u. between so. that the distance between the panes and the grate always remains the same. This is also advantageous in that the lateral speed varies between two limit values (the lever arm is lengthened or shortened), which promotes loosening and ventilation of the material.

In order to bring about a simultaneous drying of the combustion material when using very wet coal, the agitators can be heated. For this purpose, the stirring bodies are made hollow, for example for the passage of heating steam. Agitators made of disks perforated in a grid-like manner have proven particularly advantageous, in which the radial spokes or ribs arranged in a circle are hollow and serve as heating chambers. The supply of the steam and the discharge of the condensed water takes place through the hollow shaft for this purpose. In the latter there is a water

 pipes is connected.

The outer ends of the branch pipe are covered by scoops, which direct the condensation water into the pipes and prevent the penetration of water into the steam supply lines, as well as keeping the pipe coil system free of condensation water.

The drawings show embodiments of the subject matter of the invention, u. Between FIG. 1 an embodiment in elevation, FIG. 2 a side view of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a disk in plan view, FIG. 4 a second embodiment with heatable stirrer elements in elevation and partial section, FIG. 5 is a side view of FIG. 4, also in partial section.

According to FIGS. 1-3, a shaft 3 is arranged immediately behind the filling chute 1 and above the upper run of the traveling grate 2 over its entire width and carries agitator disks 4 inclined towards the plane of the grate in a uniform distribution. The disks have the elliptical shape shown in FIG. 3. The shaft 3 is coupled to the turning drum 6 of the grate by a chain 5 and associated gears. To relieve the disks from the pressure of the coals accumulated in the feed chute 1, a deflector wall 7 is arranged at the lower opening of the feed chute, which means that the charcoal emerges in front of the disks and not on them. As a result of their inclined position, the disks assume the position indicated by dashed lines after half a revolution.

By means of the device according to the invention, the coal that the traveling grate guides past under the rotating disks is often ventilated and mixed with air or oxygen; This process is further increased on the one hand by the elliptical shape of the disks and on the other hand by the higher speed of rotation compared to the grate speed, the slices effect a partial return of the coals to the inlet due to their higher speed of rotation; in this way the charcoal becomes very loose.

The invention ensures rapid and complete combustion as a result of the extensive narrowing of the coals with air and oxygen.
Tests have shown that the carbonic acid content increases from 10% to 13% and that below the
 EMI2.1
 is possible.

According to FIGS. 4 and 5, the agitator bodies are not designed as a solid disk, but are perforated in a grid-like manner. The spokes are marked with a, the ribs with b and the outer wheel with c; all these parts consist of tubes, the cavities of which open into one another. The common shaft d on which the lattice disks sit is also made hollow; it includes a concentric pipe e, from which pipes / branch off; the latter are guided concentrically through the spoke tubes a and open with their free ends into the ring tubes c. The spaces remaining between the branch tubes t and the spoke tubes a are connected on the one hand to the cavity of the shaft d and on the other hand to the cavity of the circumferential tube c.

As can be seen from FIG. 5, in which the direction of rotation of the lattice disks is indicated by arrow g, the outer mouths of the branch pipes are covered by scoops at an A; these scoop blades are inclined to the direction of rotation g in the outer hollow ring c; the outer mouths of the spoke tubes a are closed off from the scoops A at i in such a way that condensation water cannot enter the spaces between the tubes a and t, which are used to supply steam.

The hollow shaft cl is closed on one side by a sleeve k, which comprises a steam supply pipe 1, on the other side by a sleeve m, which surrounds the pipe e, which draws steam. 4 and 5, the traveling grate is indicated by the line n; the height at which the combustion material lies above the traveling grate is indicated in FIG. 4 with o.

   This device works as follows:
Here, too, the shaft cl rotates together with the lattice disks inclined on it, depending on the drive of the traveling grate, u. zw. In such a way that the peripheral speed of the disks is approximately half (e.g. 150 mm per minute) of the transport speed of the traveling grate (e.g. 300 mm per minute). During this rotary movement, the lattice disks oscillate between two limit positions, continuously working through the combustion material to be ventilated, one of which is drawn out in FIG. 4, the other of which is shown in broken lines.

Heating steam is admitted through the tube 1 into the space between the hollow shaft cl and the tube e; The heating steam flows from here through the spoke tubes a and on this way penetrates into the outer circumferential tube c. That way, the
Lattice panes are heated in such a way that when they come into contact with the combustion material, they are effectively dried. This prepares the later combustion for two reasons; On the one hand, the incineration of dried goods is quicker and more efficient; on the other hand, drying promotes the penetration of air into the combustion material.

   The condensation water that forms when the heating steam cools down must be removed; this purpose is served by the scoop / t, the tubes t and the tube e located in the hollow shaft cl, into which the tubes t open with their inner ends. The process of draining off the condensed water is such that the water striving downward in the hollow ring c is caught between two adjacent scoops h by the scoop located below;

as soon as this Creator as a result of the
Rotational movement of the wheel in the direction of the arrow g exceeds the horizontal position, d. H. the associated
Pipe t reaches a position inclined to the horizontal, the condensation water must flow into pipe e as a result of the incline offered by the inclined position of pipe t, from where the water is then discharged.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

This design of the agitator is therefore suitable for increasing the efficiency of the combustion by a considerable amount.
