 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

When reading from those devices in which a thread in the device is to be brought to coincide with an object point, the well-known phenomenon of thread parallax, that is the displacement of the thread apparently perceived in the image as a result of changes in the position of the reading eye, has a great uncertainty result in setting the object point. This phenomenon occurs particularly unpleasantly with rangefinders with threads, since the determination of the staff section becomes uncertain.

Parallax does not occur if the reading threads and the staff image lie in one and the same plane. When adjusting the telescope, you first look for the reading threads by means of the eyepiece adjustment screw and then the staff image by moving the eyepiece along the optical axis by means of the focuser and to bring it into the most favorable visual range, i.e. at the same distance from the eye. As a result of the uncertainty of the setting, which also depends on the sensitivity of the eye of the respective observer, the occurrence of a distance between the virtual images of crosshair and staff and thus a distance between crosshair and staff image is inevitable, so that parallax occurs.

The aim of the invention is to make the focusing of the images as independent as possible of the focus of the eye. For this purpose, two eyepieces with different focal lengths are provided according to the invention, of which the one with the small focal length is only used to focus the staff image and thread image and the one with the large focal length is used for the measurement.

According to attempts and calculations by the applicant, a small focal length is a basic requirement for the adjustment eyepiece, since the adjustment error decreases with the square of the focal length of the eyepiece.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject of the application is illustrated in the drawing.

Fig. 1 is a schematic illustration of parallax; 2 shows an example of an embodiment of the eyepiece according to the invention, FIG. 3 shows a horizontal section along line I11 in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 shows a vertical section along line 777-77 in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 shows a vertical longitudinal section according to the line V-VI of FIG. 4.

In Fig. 1, a and b denote the main planes of the eyepiece, c the plane in which the threads lie, 1 'and 1 "the focal points of the eyepiece, d the degree of movement of the eye in front of the eyepiece during reading, g and e the virtual image of the staff or the threads, I the real image of the staff, 7c the real and h the apparent adjustment error and finally into the parallax.

Focal length and with the normal measuring eyepiece 5. The common version 6 of both eyepieces is provided with guide lugs 7, which are provided for the purpose of exchanging the eyepieces transverse displacement z. B. longitudinally in bores of the approaches sliding guide rods 8 are guided.

The holder 6 can be displaced by means of a rod 9 which passes through the housing and ends in a handle 10, or by means of a toothed rack and a drive. An eye shield 11 is provided in the end wall of the housing. By moving the mount 6 transversely, one of the two eyepieces 1 or 5 is brought into the optical axis of the instrument in front of this diaphragm.

In Fig. 3 and 4 an automatic locking and triggering device for holding the eyepiece in the setting position or for releasing it is indicated: the housing is in the position shown

brought optical axis, with a connected to the socket 6 hook 1. 3 in a counter-hook. 14 latches at the end of a lever 15. The lever 15 is rotatably mounted about the axis 18 fastened in the housing 3 of the eyepiece and has a handle 16. A spring 17 is attached on the one hand to the lever and on the other hand to the housing extension 25. After the images have been focused, the handle 16 is actuated, as a result of which, by releasing the hook 13, the frame 6 is returned to the reading position by the tension of the springs 12.

The eyepiece adjustment screws 19 and 20, which are arranged in a known manner, move when the mount 6 is displaced in slots 21 and 22 of the housing.
