Heat treatment of iron-nickel alloys in the form of a mass core.

The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of iron-nickel alloys with approximately 72-84% nickel for coils with earth cores in order to achieve a high magnetic stability and low hysteresis losses.

The heat treatment according to the invention is to be applied to magnetic cores consisting of powdery alloy particles with a heat-resistant insulating material, which are pressed into a core shape of the desired shape and size.

It has already become known to anneal iron-nickel alloys with about 80% nickel in order to achieve a high permeability at a temperature of 500 to 600. This annealing process does not in itself give any guarantee that this alloy will have a favorable stability of the permeability in addition to low hysteresis losses.

However, in the heat treatment of mass cores made of iron-nickel alloys with a nickel content between about 72 and 84%, in addition to low hysteresis losses, maximum stability of the permeability is achieved in that, according to the invention, the temperature of the heat treatment is uniform and the temperature values are dependent curve representing the nickel content is selected, which gives the values 565, 540.501 and 448 ° C. at 72, 76, 80 and 84% nickel content.

The figure shows a curve that indicates the most favorable temperatures for the heat treatment for the nickel-iron alloys with 72 to 84% nickel in order to give the alloys a high degree of stability in terms of permeability and hysteresis losses against sudden magnetizations.

Stability of the permeability and the hysteresis losses should be understood to mean that the permeability and the hysteresis losses of the material and consequently the inductance and the effective resistance of an induction coil made from this material are practically not changed by sudden direct current or alternating current magnetizations. A coil made of such a core with stability against magnetization thus retains the same inductance and the same effective resistance before and after the sudden passage of current.

The mass cores on which the heat treatment according to the invention is to be carried out can be produced in the following known manner from a brittle alloy, which is given a fine-grained structure by quenching or the like before comminution. The brittle and fine-grained material is fed into the crushing mills and mills in sheet form. The fine dust obtained from the mills is sieved and the part that goes through a 120-mesh network (corresponding to 2500 meshes per square centimeter) is placed in a container and subjected to a heat treatment at around 900 ° C. The powder heat-treated in this way, which is removed from the container in the form of a sintered mass, is returned to a mashing unit or a powder mill.

The newly recovered dust reaches a 120-mesh sieve (2500 cm2) and the continuous part is isolated with a solution of chromic acid, water glass, talc powder and water. The mixture is heated in a known manner until it is dry. The desired permeability can be adjusted by choosing the percentage of insulation. In addition to the isolation methods described, other methods can of course also be used.

The isolated dust is sieved through a 16 mesh screen (26 mesh / cm2) and enters the mold, where it is pressed with approximately 16,000 i / ctM "pressure. The individual parts of the core are then placed in an airtight container in the annealing furnace where they are at that of the special alloy
