If the door is closed prematurely, the fire goes out. while closing too late on the
The temperature of rust is so high that lacquer tarnish penetrates and the sehamot lining is damaged. Keeping the fire door open for too long is the reason that room stoves usually need to be repaired after a short period of operation. The object of the invention is to automatically close the door as soon as the operating state of the furnace makes it necessary.
For this purpose, the Feitertare, designed as a drop door, is in the open position with a thermostat that is influenced by the radiant heat of the combustion zone and that closes the door a little beyond the equilibrium position during the heating-up period
Moved position as soon as a predetermined temperature is reached in the combustion zone, whereupon the door, which has come out of engagement with the thermostat, closes. According to one embodiment of the invention, the fire door is supported in the open position by a thermostat which, when a predetermined temperature is reached in the combustion zone, changes its shape in such a way that it disengages the door and no longer prevents it from closing.
It is already known to control furnace flaps with the aid of thermostats in such a way that the setting of the flap corresponds in each case to the thermal state of the thermostat. In contrast, the thermostat forms an organ in the device according to the invention. which causes the fire door to close once. The closed fire door is protected from the action of the thermostat.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically. 1 shows a horizontal section through the lower part of a furnace with the door in the open position, FIG. 2 shows a side view with the door open, and FIG. 3 shows a side view with the door closed. 4 shows the second embodiment.
The fire door 1 of the furnace shown in Figs. 1-3 is rotatable about joints la, the axis of which is inclined to the perpendicular. It is therefore in the unstable equilibrium position at an opening angle of 90 and closes automatically when it has been moved a little beyond the unstable equilibrium position in the sense of closing. A strip 2 made of bimetal sheet engages the fire door, the greater part of which is in a chamber. 3 is under, which is irradiated by the fuel lying on the grate 4.
The supply of combustion air in the normal operating state of the furnace is regulated in a known manner by means of a flap J which is set by a thermostat 6. ? is the handle of the fire door, which can be anchored on a pin 8 of the door frame. The handle is provided with a nose 9, the contact surface M of which interacts with the pin 8.
After the furnace has been heated up, the thermostat 2 is exposed to the heat radiating from the combustion zone and is therefore deflected. He swivels the door in the sense of closing. As soon as the temperature in the combustion zone has reached such a level that slag melt is to be feared, the door is in a position slightly beyond the unstable equilibrium position, which is indicated in Fig. 1 with dash-dotted lines. The door now closes and disengages from the thermostat. The surface 10 (FIG. 3) on the nose 9 of the handle runs onto the pin 8, the handle being pivoted in order to finally collapse behind the pin.
The fire door is firmly closed as a result of the lock, so that combustion air can only get into the furnace through the flap F controlled by the thermostat 6.
At the beginning of the next operating period, the fire door is opened again by hand.

According to the example shown in FIG. 4, the door 1 is supported in the open position by a bimetallic strip 11 which engages with a nose 12 of the door. If the bimetallic strip is bent under the action of the heat of the grate, as indicated in dashed lines, the support is removed from the fire door and it closes.
PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Device for automatic closing of the fire door of ovens, characterized in that the fire door designed as a trap door in the open position is in engagement with a thermostat influenced by the radiant heat of the combustion zone, which engages the door during the heating-up period In the sense of closing, it is moved into a position slightly beyond the equilibrium position as soon as a predetermined temperature is reached in the combustion zone, whereupon the door that has disengaged from the thermostat closes (Fig. 1-3).
