 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for administering natural or artificial sunbaths.

The subject of the present invention is a device for administering natural or artificial sunbaths, in which the body to be irradiated is irradiated evenly by moving the bed or the radiator.

Most people find the prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on one and the same part of the body very uncomfortable; many people cannot tolerate them at all or suffer severe burns or the tanning of the skin becomes uneven. This inconvenience can be remedied in that the body is automatically brought into a changing position relative to the beam direction by a device. This not only avoids an overly intense effect on one and the same part of the body, but also gradually exposes all parts of the body to the effect of the radiation and thus a uniform one. Causes tanning of the skin.

According to the invention, devices are used which bring the healing rays to all parts of the body uniformly effective by constantly changing the position of the body in relation to the direction of the beam and thus to the effective angle of incidence.

Rotating beds appear as a suitable device for the purpose in a horizontal position or in a position inclined to this, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 5.

1 shows a platform 1 for the simultaneous use of many people in the form of a flat roof, which is surrounded by a cylindrical jacket 2. The purpose of the cylindrical surrounding jacket is to avoid the risk of people being knocked over by protruding corners, since with larger dimensions of the platform, due to the very large transmission ratio from the driving motor to the axis of rotation, which is located in the center of the disc 3, very large forces arise Question come. The entire lying surface can be divided into individual lying areas by thin strips 4 or colored strips serving the same purpose in order to avoid disputes.

However, it can also be divided into cells by upright slats, which are filled with sand, so that there is also the possibility of storage in the sand, which is usual for sunbathing.

Correspondingly smaller rotatable platforms or deck chairs specially constructed according to FIG. 2 can be used for individual persons. These consist of a lying surface 5, which is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis 6 and can be adjusted in various inclined positions by an adjusting device. As an adjustment device for the inclination, any known means, e.g. B. a single or double scissors frame 1, which is adjustable by crank 8 and counter-rotating screws 9.

The axis of rotation 6 and the scissor support 7 are mounted, for example, on a rotating grate 10, which is mounted on the stand 12 so as to be easily rotatable by a cap 11. Stand 12 can either be founded directly in the ground or, for example, attached to a wooden grid 13 that is simply placed in the sand.

The cap 11 carries approximately a housing 14 which contains the drive mechanism, e.g. B. contains an electric motor or a strong clock spring and causes the rotation of the deck chair.

The speed of rotation can be either fixed or changeable. Sensitive people are, especially in high heat, z. B. when the sun is high or in southern areas, want an acceleration of the speed of rotation, while less sensitive people prefer a slower rotation, which is normally set to five to ten minutes per revolution. For this purpose, appropriate devices can be provided, which is shown in FIG.

as is characterized in principle by wind blades 18 which can be adjusted in their inclined position by means of rotary knob 15 and ropes 16 against a spring balancer 17.

At the foot of the reclining surface 5 an adjustable foot rail 19 can be attached to enable people of different sizes to support their feet. At the head end, a slanted head support surface 20 can provide for a comfortable head position.

The lying surface 5 is expediently formed according to Fig. 3 from a stretched on a frame 21 pipe, belt, rope, wire or any other material generated braid 22, the wide meshes of the cooling and sweat-absorbing air better access to the body of the Resting permitted. For hygienic reasons, every bather will be provided with a blanket made of the well-known absorbent tetraline.

On deckchairs constructed according to such principles, the person lying on them can regulate the incline of the reclining surface by means of the crank 8 and the speed of rotation by means of the rotary knob 15 without the assistance of third parties.

As FIG. 3 shows, the belt mesh can be simply placed over the upper surface of the frame 21 or also stretched over its lower surface; the distance between the two braids is given by the thickness of the frame 21. The double covering has the advantage that the lower covering relieves the load on the upper braiding when the tension is released.

The principle of rotating sunbaths can also be transferred to floating forms, which have the special advantage that, especially when using air-permeable meshes as a bed surface, a pleasant, cooling reflection is noticeable from the water surface below at short distances, and thus the which effectively supports the preventive effect of the rotation of the lying surface from overheating of the body.

As a float, especially for large platforms that are to accommodate a larger number of people according to FIG. 1, enough load-bearing wood scraps or pontoons or for individual reclining areas according to FIG. 4, a rubber hose 23 mounted according to the principle of a bicycle, on which a fully resting frame 24, the lying surface 25 shaped according to FIG. 3 is arranged.

A small electric or compressed air motor or a powerful clockwork can be accommodated in the spacious hub 26 of this wheel construction, which drives a slowly running air or water propeller or a small capsule pump whose pressurized water flows out through pipes arranged like spokes and bent tangentially at the end , generates the recoil necessary for the rotation of the float.

This floating device can be anchored, for example, by means of neck bearings 27 and rope 28, which the latter can either be attached to the land or to anchors (indicated by dashed lines) at the bottom of the body of water. If necessary, wide wings 29 are used,

 Rotation.

Another form of application shows the children's swing shown in FIG. 5, slowly rotating around its stand. On a stand 32 suitably clad at its lower end with a base 31 made of wickerwork, there is a tubular cap 33, which extends one on both sides
Transom 34 carries, rotatably attached. A drive device 35 sets the crossbeam, which carries swings 36 on both arms, in a slowly rotating motion so that naked children who are enjoying themselves on these swings are irradiated from all sides in a period of about five minutes.

It goes without saying that all forms of rotating sunbathing, which are always constructed, can also be equipped with fans for cooling purposes or with canopies that only allow short-wave light to pass through in order to keep out harmful heat rays. The essence of the principle is just as little changed as a result of the fact that the rotating movement is supplemented or replaced by a rolling movement or that a jerky continuous rotary movement is set in place of an evenly continuous one.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Device for administering natural or artificial sunbathing, characterized in that the body to be irradiated is exposed to a continual change in the direction of the radiation by setting the bed in a steady or jerky continuous slow rotation or the artificial light source continuously or jerkily in one of the light - The angle of incidence is changed.
