Fig. 6 veranschaulicht im Schnitt ein mehrschichtiges Material gemäss der Erfindung im Schnitt, welches aus zwei dünnen Metallschichten lu, i besteht, die zusammen der Dicke der Metallschiehte a

Bottle capsule, container closure or the like with a tear-off flap and material for producing the same.
The invention relates to bottle caps, container closures or the like, which consist of one or more metallic layers (e.g. aluminum) and non-metallic layers connected to these and which are torn through for removal by means of a tear-off flap arranged on the closure. The invention also relates to the material for producing such closures.
Bottle caps and container closures with tear-off flaps are already known which are made exclusively of thin metal, e.g. B. consist of aluminum about 0.1 mm thick. Such closures can be formed from the thinly rolled aluminum without the use of heat and, for example, by tightening a wire loop over the one placed on the bottle neck
Closure can be attached, whereby the noose is inserted into the annular groove at the top of the bottle neck. However, such closures are relatively expensive, and attempts have therefore been made to manufacture the closures fiber material, e.g. B. cardboard or the like. Non-metallic material to be used.
However, the shaping of such a material requires the application of heat, otherwise the shape will not be maintained.
The invention is based on the object of creating a closure of the type mentioned at the outset which combines the advantage of cheapness with that of being producible without the use of heat. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the total thickness of the metal layers is 0.02-0-06 mm and the non-metallic layer of the closure or of the material for producing the closure has only such a thickness that the closure or the material can be molded without the application of heat.
This has the advantage that the closure made from the building material mentioned becomes as rigid as a similar closure, which is made exclusively of metal, e.g. B. aluminum with a thickness of 0.1 mm. The non-metallic layer will usually have to have a greater overall thickness than the metal layers.
The individual layers of the fastener can be connected to one another by an adhesive that is applied to the layers, or the adhesive can be contained in the non-metallic layers themselves and there also as a binder for the fibers from which the non-metallic layers mainly after exist, work. In the latter case, the metal layers can be of such a type that, when the layers are brought together, they adhere to the non-metallic layers.
If necessary, the closure or the material used for its production can also be provided with a coating of a lacquer-like composition
In the drawing, several embodiments of the invention are shown, u. Between FIG. 1 shows a section through a bottle cap with a single, externally arranged metal layer, FIG. 2 shows a section through a similarly designed bottle cap with a stiffening flange, FIG. 3 is a plan view of the closure according to FIG. 2 on a smaller scale. 4 and 5 each show a further embodiment of closures in section, and FIGS. 6 and 7 each show a section through a multilayer building material in different designs.
Both in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 and in that according to FIG. 2, the closure consists of an outer or surface section a made of metal, e.g. B. aluminum or similar material. The metal layer a is very thin and only needs to be a few hundredths of a millimeter thick in order to give the closure together with the inner or lower layer b the necessary rigidity,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
so that it can be shaped and applied without the application of heat. The Metzlisehichte a can z. B. consist of aluminum, which is rolled out to a thickness between 0-02 and 0'06 mm.
The lower layer b is connected to the metal layer a by a suitable adhesive or by means of
EMI2.1
of the multilayer material can vary between 0-15-0-4 mm, not including the adhesive, depending on the strength required for the use of the closure. For the choice of the relative thickness of the metal layer a and the inner paper od. Like. Layer b, it must be taken into account that the entire multilayer material must have the required rigidity that it can be cold formed and that the metal layer must be as thin as possible so that the manufacturing costs of the closure are as low as possible. FIG. 3 is a plan view of the closure shown in section in FIG. 2 and shows how the tear-off tab c protrudes over the flange il.
The lower layer b of the closure shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, which consists of paper, cardboard or the like, can be made of several layers. Usually the lower layer b is treated with paraffin, varnish or the like or in some other way either before or after the manufacture of the closure

multilayer, plate-shaped material, but they can also be made exclusively from very thin metal plates corresponding to the surface layer a, to which the non-metallic layer b is then applied, whereby it is not necessary that these layers are applied to the underside of the flap c which is used to tear off the closure.
The closure shown in FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 only in that the closure or the material from which the closure is made is a multi-layer material with upper and lower metal layers e and f and a middle layer g made of non-metallic material of a suitable type. The two metal layers e and f have the smallest possible total thickness, which corresponds to the single metal layer a in FIGS. 1 and 2.
5 shows a closure which is made from the same two-layer material as that according to FIGS. 1 and 2, and differs from this only in that the metal layer a is provided as the inner or lower layer, while the thicker, non-metallic layer Layer b is a top or outer layer.
Fig. 6 illustrates in section a multilayer material according to the invention in section, which consists of two thin metal layers lu, i, which together with the thickness of the metal layers a

7 shows an upper cover sheet 1n made of any material which gives the multilayer material a beautiful outer surface. A layer n is made of paper or the like, while the aluminum layer o of the required thickness is covered on its underside with a layer p, for example made of cellophane.
