Fig. 6).

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

The counter-pointer rotation of the arm 26 is transmitted via the rod 3J to the lever 37, one arm of which the feed opening 38 for the zeroing key for. The counter shaft 130 releases and its pin 39 brings the cover 43 covering the transaction type counters 128 and the total counter 129 into the inoperative position.

The core of the lock 44 carries a pin 45 which engages in a slot 52 of an angle lever 47 rotatable on a fixed pin 46. An edge 48 of the left (FIG. 1) arm of the bell crank 47 is normally in contact with the pin 32 of the slide 17. An extension 49 branching off from an arm of the angle lever 47 works together with a continuation arm 50 of a counter 51. If the core of the lock 44 is turned clockwise by means of a key, the pin 45 pivots the angle lever 47 out in the counterclockwise direction.

The edge 48 moves the slide 17 downwards via the pin 32 and thereby removes its bend from the angle piece 18 of the cover 13. At the same time, the extension 49 of the angle lever 47 acts on the indexing arm 50 and advances the readable subtotal counter 51 by one step.

The adding wheels 53 (FIGS. 2-4) designed as type wheels sit rotatably on a shaft 54 and are each connected to a gear 55. Each gear 55 meshes with a gear 59 rotatable on the zero setting shaft 58 via an intermediate gear 57 rotatable on a shaft 56. If the zero setting shaft 58 according to FIG. 2 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction, driver pawls (not shown) located on the gear wheels 59 engage in recesses in the zero setting shaft 58. As a result, all gears 59 are brought back to a specific starting position in a known manner. The zeroing shaft 58 is rotated by means of the zeroing key 60 (FIG. 5). On this key 60 there are two mustaches 61 and 62 which, in accordance with the shape of the insertion opening 30 (FIG. 1), force the correct insertion of the key.

There is a gap between the two beards 61 and 62, the width of which corresponds to the thickness of the side wall 63 (FIG. 4) of the machine frame. If the key 60 has been inserted correctly, the one bit 62 is inside and the other bit 61 is outside the side wall 63. If the key 60 is now turned so that the bit 61 and 62 are no longer in the path of the square recess of the Insertion opening 30 are located, then in cooperation with the side wall 63, they prevent the key 60 from being removed or pushed in. When the zero-setting key 60 is rotated, the beard 61 hits a shoulder 64 of an arm 65 that is rotatable on a fixed pin 66 and is bent in the shape of a hook (Fig. 1) and turns it counter-clockwise.

The arm 65 swings out the indexing arm 660 of a readable total or zero setting counter 67. If the beard 61 has left the shoulder 64, the arm 65 returns to its normal position under the action of the loading spring, not shown, of the indexing arm 66.

When the zero setting key 60 is introduced, its inclined surface 68 (FIG. 5) cooperates with a bend 69 (FIG. 4) of a lever 71 that is rotatable on a fixed pin 70 and loaded by a spring 72 (FIGS. 2-4). The lever 71 is coupled by a rod 73 to a type segment 74 which is rotatable on the adder shaft 54 and which carries the characters X and Z. X means subtotal, Z means final total. Usually the letter X is in the printing plane. An angle lever 75 is also rotatably seated on the fixed pin 70, the hardened arm 76 of which is held in notches 77 of a pawl 78 which is rotatable on a pin 79 of the lever 71 and loaded by a spring 80.

Finally, the lever 71 also has a bend 81 against which a rod 84 guided with a longitudinal slot 83 on a fixed pin 82 rests. The upper end of the rod 84 is articulated to an arm 86 loaded by a spring 85. The arm 86 is attached to a tube 87 (FIG. 4) which is pushed over a shaft 88 and carries a second arm 89. The arm 89 comprises a fork-like pin 90 of an indexing arm for a second zero setting counter 92, the counting wheels 91 of which are designed as type wheels.

The parts mentioned work together in the following way: When the zero setting key 60 is inserted, the cooperation of the inclined surface 68 with the bend 69 turns the lever 71 around the pin 70 in the counter-clockwise direction and from the position according to FIG. 2 to the position according to FIG. 3 brought. The type segment 74 is also rotated counterclockwise around the adder shaft 54 via the rod 73 and the letter Z (total) is brought into the printing plane (FIG. 3). Furthermore, when the lever 71 is turned in the opposite direction, the rod 84 is raised by its bend 81 and the arm 86 is rotated clockwise against the force of its loading spring 85 with the tube 87 and the arm 89.

As a result of this clockwise rotation, the indexing arm of the printable zero setting counter 92 is swung out and this counter is advanced by one step.

Since the angle lever 75 is coupled to the lever 71 by the pawl 78, it also takes part in the counter-pointer rotation of the lever 71. Its lower arm 9.3 enters a recess 94 in the manner of an inclined surface of the zero setting key 60 and prevents it from being pulled out, although it has not yet been turned. If the zero setting key 60 is now turned counterclockwise (FIGS. 2 and 3), the full circumference of the key shaft acts on the arm 93 and turns the angle

 the spring 80 held positively.

If the zero setting key 60 now returns to the insertion position after the counter-pointer rotation has ended, it can be pulled out unhindered because the arm? is held outside the recess 94 by the entry of the arm 76 into the upper notch 77. After pulling out the zero setting key 60, the lever M returns under the action of its spring 72 to the normal position according to FIG. 2. An extension 95 of the lever 75 meets the zero setting shaft 58 before the lever 11 has assumed its rest position. Since the spring 80 is weaker than the spring 72, the spring 72 rotates the lever 75 against the force of the spring 80 in the counterclockwise direction. As a result, the sharpened arm 76 is removed from the upper notch 77 and falls into the lower notch 77 under the action of the spring 80.

As a result, the lever 75 now also resumes its normal position.

A disk 96 (Fig. 2) is attached to the zero setting shaft 58, the pin 97 of which strikes an extension 98 of an angle lever 99 rotatable on the pin 82 towards the end of the counter-pointer rotation of the shaft 58 and swings it clockwise against the force of its loading spring 100. The extent of the pivoting movement of the angle lever 99 is determined by a fixed pin 101. This pin 101 prevents a second counter-pointer rotation of the zero setting shaft 58 immediately following the first, since the pin 97 cannot be moved under the angle lever 98, 99. The zeroing shaft 58 can therefore only be rotated once. In order to enable a new rotation, a new mass process must first be initiated.

During this course of the mask, the frame 102 containing the shafts 54, 56 and 58 is moved downwards in a known manner. Since the disk 96 participates in this downward movement, the pin 97 is removed from the path of the extension 98 so that the angle lever 99 can return to the normal position according to FIG. 2 under the action of its loading spring 100 in the counterclockwise direction. An arm 104 is rotatably seated on a pin 103 of the angle lever 99, the extension 107 of which is held in contact with a pin 106 of the angle lever 99 by a spring 105. If the angle lever 99 swings clockwise towards the end of the counter-pointer rotation of the zero setting shaft 58, the lower end of the arm 104 is stopped by the shaft of the zero setting key 60 and the spring 105 is tensioned.

If the zero setting key 60 is now withdrawn from the machine, the extension 107 rests against the pin 106 again under the action of the tensioned spring 105.

The lower end of the arm 104 comes into the area of the leading opening 30 and prevents the reset key 60 from being inserted again, despite the fact that the lock 19 is still open. If the adder frame is moved downwards during a subsequent machine run and as a result the angle lever 99 returns to its normal position, the arm 104 is also removed from the area of the insertion opening 50. This means that after the zeroing shaft 58 has been rotated once, it can only be rotated again after at least one addition checkout has been carried out.

The total imprint of the adding wheels 53 designed as type wheels and the type wheels 91 of the zeroing counter 92 (FIG. 4) takes place by means of a printing frame 108 (FIGS. 6 and 7) rotatable on a shaft 109. The shaft 109 is rotatably mounted in fixed support arms 110 of the machine frame. On a second shaft 111 rotatably mounted in the support arms 110, two lifting disks 112 are attached, behind the lateral pins 113 of which one end of a helical spring 114 wrapped around the shaft 111 engages, while the other end lies behind a frame transverse wall 115. The springs 114 tend to keep the pressure frame 108 in the inoperative position. The lifting disks 112 work together with two side plates 116 fixedly connected to the pressure frame 108.

Each side plate 116 engages with its upper fork slot around an eccentric disk 118 fastened to the side wall of the pressure frame 108 by means of a screw 117. If the screw 111 is loosened and the eccentric disk 118 is removed, the side plate 116 is rotatably seated on a screw 120 of the side wall of the frame 108 The eccentric disk 118 is used for the fine adjustment of the pressure frame 108 with respect to the lifting disks 112. Rubber blocks 121 are inserted into the pressure frame 108 and work together with the type wheels 53 and 91. The paper strip to be printed is inserted through a slot 122 of the printing frame 108. For better guidance, a resilient plate 123 is also inserted in the pressure frame 108, which has openings 124 opposite the rubber blocks 121.

This sheet also serves to cover the type wheels, of which an imprint is not desired. This comes into consideration when two or more adding mechanisms are accommodated on the adding mechanism shaft 54 and the adding wheels are grouped together in places. A reinforcing strip 125 is also fastened in the pressure frame 108 for the guide plate 123. Finally, the ribbon 126 is also guided around the outside of the metal sheet 123. The ribbon strip 126 has an eyelet at each end by means of which it is suspended from resilient hooks 127 on the side walls of the print frame 108. Due to the spring action of the hooks 127, the ribbon strip 126 is always kept taut. So that the paper sheet does not encounter any resistance when it is inserted through the slot 122, the lower edges of the rubber blocks 121 are beveled.

So that the upper edges of the openings 124 do not offer any resistance to the sheet of paper either, they are pointed (cf. FIG. 6).

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

The printing frame is operated with the aid of the lever 11 (see also FIG. 1) which is attached to the shaft 111. If the sheet of paper is inserted into seat 122, lever 11 is pulled forward, that is, rotated in the counterclockwise direction. In the process, the lifting disks 112, in cooperation with the side plates 116, pivot the pressure frame 108 out in a clockwise direction, with the rubber block. 121 print the sheet of paper and ribbon 126 against the type wheels 53 and 91.

     Transaction type and total counter.

The machine has five readable counters 128 (FIG. 11), each of which is assigned to one of the business types cash ", credit sale", paid invoice ", issue" and no sale ". There is also a total counter 129, All counters 128 and 129 sit next to each other on a shaft 130 which can be turned back by means of the zero setting key 60 (FIG. 5). The introduction of the zero setting key to the counter shaft 130 is, as already mentioned, only possible when the total lock 19. By opening the lock 19, the lever 37 (FIG. 1) is removed from the area of the insertion opening 38.

The counters 128 and 129 are reset by turning the shaft 130 clockwise. A disk 131 (FIGS. 8 and 11) is attached to the shaft 130, and one arm of an angle lever 135 rotatable on a fixed pin 134 protrudes into its notch 133. The angle lever 135 rests against a fixed pin 137 under the action of a spring 136. An arm 138 also sits on the pin 134 and is connected to the angle lever 136 by a spring 139. The spring 139 holds a bend 140 of the arm 138 with the lower edge of the bell crank 135 in contact.

The arm 138 cooperates with a side pin 132 of the disc 131.

The parts mentioned work in the following way: If the arm 138 is in the extended position in FIG. 8 and the shaft 130 is now rotated clockwise by means of the reset key 60, the upper edge of the notch 133 pivots the angle lever 135 against the force of the Spring 136 in the counterclockwise direction, which takes the arm 138 with it into the dot-dash position.

In the swung-out position there is a recess 141 of the arm 138 in the path of the pin 132. Towards the end of the clockwise rotation of the disk, the pin 132 enters the recess 141 and holds the arm 138 in the dot-dash position. At the same time, however, the notch 133 of the disk 131 has come under the one arm of the angle lever 135, so that the latter can return to its normal position under the action of its loading spring 136. The arm 138 is intended to prevent the shaft 130 from over-rotating and precisely determines the zero position.

Before the shaft 130 can be rotated clockwise again in a subsequent zero position, it must first be brought back a little, whereby the pin 132 is removed from the recess 141, so that the arm 138 under the action of the spring 139 in the in Fig. 8 returns to the extended position. Only now can the shaft 230 be rotated clockwise in the manner described.

Each lowest-digit counter wheel is connected to an indexing wheel 142 with which an indexing pawl 144 accommodated in a bracket 143 rotatable on the shaft 130 cooperates in a known manner. A rod 145 engages the bracket 143 and is connected in an articulated manner to a bracket 148 guided in a longitudinal slot 146 of a fixed partition 147. The rod 145 and the bracket 148 together form a knee joint, at the pivot point of which a rod 149 engages. The rod 149 is rotatably seated on a shaft 151 which is carried by two arms 152. The left arm 152 (FIG. 11) is attached to a shaft 150 rotatable in the side wall 153, the second arm 154 of which is connected by a rod 155 to the counter drive (not shown).

9 and 10 show the position of the parts when the shaft 150 has swung out in a clockwise direction during machine operation. If the counter drive device returns to the normal position towards the end of a machine gear, the shaft 150 is rotated counterclockwise, the rod 149 is moved downwards and the knee joint 145, 148 is bent, which is also supported by a spring 156 engaging the rod 145. If the knee joint is buckled, the bracket 143 carrying the indexing pawl 144 is returned counterclockwise to the normal position shown in FIG. 10, and a roller 157 of the tab 148 is moved into the extreme left part of the slot 146.

. Which of the five counters 128 is now incremented for the next machine cycle depends on the position of a shaft 158, the pinion 159 of which is in mesh with a toothed segment 161 rotatable at 162 via an intermediate wheel 160. The toothed segment 161 is set by the setting elements determining the type of operation, ie an setting lever or a row of special keys, and transfers this setting to the shaft 158. On this, five sectors 163 arranged in a helical surface are attached, each of which is in the path of the associated Roll 157 can be brought. 9 and 10 show the effect of the sectors 163 with the same setting of the shaft 158 for the extreme right and the second counter 128 from the right.

In the illustrated position of the shaft 158, there is a sector 163 in the path of the roller 157 of the tab 148 assigned to the extreme right counter 128.

If the rod 149 is now raised by the counter drive device and the knee joint 145,
 EMI4.1

Bracket 143 swings out in a clockwise direction and, by means of the pawl 144 and the incremental wheel 142, turns the lowest-digit counting wheel one step further. The counting wheels of the higher values are indexed by a gear transmission device of any type. For the second counter 128 from the right (FIG. 11) there is no sector 163 in the path of the roller 157 when the shaft 158 is in the same position. If the rod 149 is now raised, the spring 156 holds the rod 145 and thus the bracket 143 in the rest position shown in FIG. 10. For this, the roller 157 is moved to the right in the guide slot 146.

The lifting of the rod 149 therefore has no effect on the associated counter 128. Since the total counter 129 has to be incremented for each checkout, a resistance must be located in the path of the roller 157 assigned to it, regardless of the setting of the shaft 158. In order to achieve this, a sector 164 (FIG. 11) is attached to the shaft 158 and assumes the same angle as all sectors 163 taken together.

is placed in the ineffective position. Nevertheless, the feed opening 38 for the zero setting key of the counter shaft 130 should only be released when the lock 19 is opened, that is, when the final sum is printed. Such a device would differ from that shown in FIG. 1 only in that the extension 41 of the panel support arm 42 would be coupled to the slide 17 by a rod and the pin 39 and the slot 40 would be omitted.

In this embodiment, the user would also be able to read the information from counters 128 and 129 when printing a subtotal, but without being able to reset these counters to zero.
