 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI1.1

The invention relates to a scale for filling various substances in any ratio into a common container. According to the invention, a light-sensitive cell controlled by a part of the weighing device acts on both supply lines of the individual substances. The balance according to the invention has a significant advantage in the composition of mixtures according to a certain ratio. Instead of weighing the various substances in different containers and then pouring them into a mixing container, the mixing container is placed on the platform of the balance and the various substances are added to the container. The entire flow of substances is then optionally controlled by the closing devices provided on the scales.

According to a preferred embodiment, the light-sensitive cell causes one of the electromagnets closing the supply lines to be actuated via a changeover switch.

An embodiment of the inventive balance is shown in the drawings.

Fig. 1 is the front view of the balance, Fig. 2 is an enlarged section along line 11-11 of Fig. 1 showing the photoelectric control element in detail, and Fig. 3 shows the electrical circuit diagram.

In the case of scales with oscillating load balancing weights 14, 15, it is common practice to balance the weight of the load carrying levers and the load pan resting on them, which pulls the load balancing pendulum system, to such an extent that the pointer 19 aligns with the zero display on the scale 18. This compensation is done by a weight 21, which is arranged at the outer end of the buoyancy compensator 5 and counteracts the weight of the load lever and the load tray as well as the weights 27, 28 and the weight of the parts of the beams 24 and 25, which are on the weight 21 opposite side of the beam support point.

In the weighing device according to the invention, however, only some of the aforementioned weights are balanced by the counterweight 21, u. between so much that when the load shell is unloaded the tension exerted on the compensating pendulum corresponds to the full scale range, the pointer 19 therefore points to the graduation line corresponding to the full scale range.

The photoelectric control device, which is completely independent of the weighing mechanism (FIG. 2), comprises a photoelectric element 29 in the housing 29 ', an electric lamp 33 located in a tubular housing 32 and lenses 34 which pass the light from the lamp through a narrow Throw opening 35 of indicator disc 18. Since the photoelectric element 29 is shielded from all light rays by the housing 29 ′, it must receive all the light required for its actuation through the opening 35. Supply lines 36 feed the light source 31 from the network 37 of the current source 38.

When the balance is not in operation or the desired amount is on the balance, the pointer 19 is in front of the opening 35 and prevents the light rays from falling on the photosensitive element 29. The material to be filled into the container 39 is located in the containers 40 and 41. Pipes 42 and 43 which lead from these containers are equipped with valves 44 and 45 each controlled by a solenoid. These valves are arranged in such a way that the contents of the containers 40, 41 can flow into the container 39 on the scales.

The photoelectric element 29 used to control the solenoid valve is connected by conductor 46 to a known amplifier and relay system 47 which energizes the switching lever 49 via the line 48 when the light-sensitive element 29 is irradiated by the light source 33. When the element 29 is not irradiated, the lever 49 is de-energized. The circuit associated with valve 44 includes a solenoid coil 50,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

a switch 53, which cooperates with the armature 54 of the coil 50, a push button switch 55 and leads 52 and 56.

The line 52 connects one end of the coil 50 to the network 37, and the line 56, which is connected at one of its ends to a terminal of the switch 53, is provided with a contact member 57 which is selectively brought into engagement with the switch 49 can be.

The circuit of the valve 45 agrees in all parts with the vorbesehriebenen circuit.

For example, if 20 kg of one and 80 kg of the second component are to be filled into the container 39, the weight of the empty container 39 is determined and this weight is tared by changing the position of the weight 27 on the beam 24 in the usual way . The weight 28 is then moved on the bar 25 until its mark corresponds to the 20 kg graduation.

The consequence of this is that the tensile force exerted by the weight 28 on the compensating pendulum and thus also the. through the steering lever ,. the load tray, the weights 27 and 28 as well as the proportional weight of the beams JM and -25 caused the total pull on the load balancing pendulum is lower. Accordingly, the pendulum weights, which are now counteracted by a smaller tensile force than in the end position of the weight 28, will move downwards until their weight moment compensates for the train again. The pointer 19, which is operated by the load balancer, moves counterclockwise until its tip coincides with the 20 kg display.

In order to open the valve 44, which releases the flow of material from the corresponding container through the corresponding pipeline, the operator first closes the switch 49, 57 and then the switch 55, which controls the excitation circuit. Solenoid coil 50 closes. As a result, the armature 54 is lifted and the switch 53 is closed by the contact element 53, whereby the excitation current is maintained in the coil 50 when the push button switch 55 also opens. The upper end of the armature 54 is rotatable in the. one end of the lever 59 is supported which is rotatable at 60 inside the valve body. The other end of the lever is rotatably connected to a rod 61 which, at the lower end, carries a valve body 62 which regulates the outlet.

When the coil 50 is energized, the upward movement of the armature via the lever 59 causes the valve 62 to open, so that the material can flow into the container 39. The weight of the goods gradually balances the weight 28, so that the pendulums move upwards again until the pointer 19 covers the opening 35 in the disk 18.

When this opening is shielded by the pointer, the resistance of the photoelectric element increases, so that the current that had closed a relay in the system 47 when the opening was uncovered by a displacement of the weight 28 is depressed to a value which is not enough to keep the relay closed. As a result, the excitation circuit of the solenoid coil 50 is opened and the valve is closed by a spring 63, so that the flow of material is interrupted.

In order to obtain the desired amount of material from the container 41, the switch 49 is brought into connection with the line 64, which in its mode of operation of the line 56 of the circuit
 EMI2.1
electricity is interrupted when the desired amount of material has entered the container. This amount of material to be removed from the container can optionally be set with one of the weights 27 or 28 or with a further weight 26 on a bar connected to bars 24, 25, which according to the invention have the same load moment, so that they are equivalent to choice as Counterweights for the container can be used. Is z. If, for example, the weight 26 is used as a load compensation for the container, one amount of material can be set with the weight 27 and the other with the weight 28.
