Electrostatic precipitators, especially for furnace gas cleaning
To improve or even to enable a satisfactory electrical gas cleaning, it is very often, for. B. in furnace gas cleaning necessary to connect a gas scrubber in front of the electrostatic precipitator in order to achieve the necessary cooling and humidification of the hot gases before they enter the electrostatic precipitator. In recent years, Venturi tubes have already been used as pre-washers in front of electrostatic precipitators. It is also known to first ionize the raw gases before scrubbing the raw gas (German Patent No. 876836). The vertical gas scrubber with the horizontal filter adjoining it at right angles require a relatively large amount of space or, if a venturi tube is connected upstream as a gas scrubber, a large overall length.

The invention is based on the object of saving space and overall length in such systems, and also to use the pressure increase in the gases (compared to the pressure reduction in conventional washing coolers) caused by the use of Venturi scrubbers with injector action to generate a pressure gradient within the electrostatic precipitator housing In previous practice, it drops from the end of the filter to the inlet of the filter, so that the clean gas is under higher pressure than the raw gas.

This results in advantages in that the isolators for the pre-ionization system as well as for the fields of the electrostatic precipitator can be ventilated with pure gas and heated more cheaply.

Another advantage of the invention consists in the two-stage utilization of the fresh water for the humidification and cooling of the raw gases, in that the electrically cleaned gases leaving the electrostatic precipitator are first cooled directly and the fresh water that runs off here, which contains little solids and is not heated, is then used for prewashing the raw gases is used.

A particularly advantageous construction of an electrostatic precipitator with upstream gas scrubbing in a venturi tube (venturi scrubber) and ionization of the raw gases arranged upstream of the gas scrubbing, especially for furnace gas cleaning, is created according to the invention in that one or more venturi tubes as post-scrubbers within the same filter housing are created in parallel with the venturi pre-washer are arranged in such a way that the gas flow emerging from the venturi pre-washer is deflected in its direction by 1800 before the gas entry into the electrostatic precipitator and after its end and before entering the venturi post-washer. The venturi scrubbers can advantageously be arranged on the same side of the electrostatic filter housing as the venturi scrubber,

so that, for example, a horizontal or vertical housing wall is made up of three venturi scrubbers running in parallel.
EMI1.1

Features Electric filter with the Venturi scrubbers arranged underneath according to the line in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 shows a horizontal section through the electric filter according to line IV-IV of FIG. 1. FIG. 5 shows the supply and circulation of the fresh water in a diagram via the venturi scrubber and venturi pre-scrubber.
EMI1.2

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>

Raw gases are indicated by wide black arrows.

The raw gases then emerge from the supply line Le. In a venturi tube Ve, which occupies part of the bottom of the horizontal electrostatic precipitator, which, for example, has the three fields E., EZ # E, above the Venturi tube Ve. In the inlet mouth of the Venturi tube Ve, the pressurized water nozzle De operated with an overpressure of, for example, 5 atm is arranged axially, with an annular space R being left on the inlet nozzle or outlet nozzle of the pipe Le to place additional flushing water lines at the front to keep the venturi neck clean and on the other hand for a gas line between the outlet end of the electrostatic precipitator, which is located directly above the inlet end of the Venturi scrubber Ve, with the possibility of sucking clean gas into the annular space R can be provided.

At the gas outlet end of the Venturi scrubber Ve, which is arranged with a gradient towards its end, an enlarged channel Ke with the baffle plates St for separating dust and water and a gas deflection through the deflection surface U around 1800 after the electrostatic precipitator E1 etc. is provided. The sludge obtained in this pre-separation Ke reaches the sump Se via the drains Te and from here via the overflow into the fall shaft Sch.

The now partially pre-cleaned gases, enriched with water vapor to the point of saturation, sweep through the electric fields E-. E of the electrostatic precipitator in the opposite direction from right to left (black and white arrow), and at the end Ea of the electrostatic precipitator, as indicated by the arrow with a white field, can again be deflected around 1800 and, as shown in FIG

or cooler vague.

In the exemplary embodiment, therefore, all the Venturi scrubbers lie next to one another with a slope on the bottom of the horizontal electrostatic precipitator (i.e. on the side in the case of a vertical filter). As from the floor plan

rising into the clean gas line La shown in FIG. 1
By redirecting the gases to be cleaned around 1800 at least once, according to the invention the possibility is created of creating a self-contained electrostatic filter block which has a considerably shorter overall length and a significantly lower weight than previously usual.
EMI2.3

Since, according to a further feature of the invention, these venturi scrubbers Va are initially exposed to clear water and in these scrubbers, which essentially serve to cool the clean gases to about 5-8 C below the dew point of the raw gas before the venturi scrubber, for example from 50 C to 35 C, the cooling water will hardly be contaminated, it can be

scrubber Ve are supplied. Thus, a particularly favorable water utilization is given in two work steps, whereby a desired preheating of the water for the ventun washer Ve is achieved.

It is advisable to operate the pressurized water pumps for the secondary scrubber Va at a lower pressure (for example 4 atm) than the pump for the pre-scrubber Ve and to switch on a check valve in a connection line between the pump line for Ve and Va, which in the event of a pump failure will provide higher pressure then the water from the low pressure pump is automatically directed to the pre-washer (Fig. 5).

As indicated schematically in the section of Fig. 2, can now at the clean gas outlet end Ea of the electrical

be forwarded.

A second check valve RV is switched on in this supply line to the nozzle De, so that when the pumps P standstill, circulating water is automatically fed from the line Lu to the pre-washer.

For this automatic regulation it is necessary that the pumps P work at a higher pressure than the pumps, not shown, for feeding the circulation line Lu
Furthermore, the block construction according to the invention enables all flushing and nozzle lines to be laid within the housing, so that no difficulties can arise in winter due to the lines or throttle flaps and valves freezing.

Compared to the known nozzle zone cooler, which consumes around 5 ms of water per 1000 NmS of raw gas, only 3 mis of water / 1000 Nm3 of raw gas are used in the Venturi coolers at roughly the same water pressure. Furthermore, the venturi scrubbers bring about a gas pressure gain of around 20 mm, while the nozzle zone cooler has a pressure loss of 20 mm water column.

The degree of dust separation of the vent pre-washer Ve with pre-chilled ionizer J is, for example, about 90% for swirl dust, so that the raw gases already entering the electrostatic precipitator are 0.8-0.5 g / Nm
Dust content are pre-cleaned and with a dedusting degree of at least 9014gen of the electrostatic precipitator and a dedusting degree of at least 30% of the venturi washer Va residual dust contents of less than
10-5 mg / Nm can be guaranteed.
