  Bewehrtes Holz

  Reinforced wood
The invention relates to reinforced wood, consisting of square iron mounted between layers in the wood and glued to it. According to the invention, the square irons completely embedded in the wood are fitted in triangular grooves, which are provided in the mutually adjacent sides of the layers in such a way that the hypotenuses of the triangles and thereby one of the diagonal planes of the square irons coincide with the planes of the mutually adjacent layer sides.

This results in large surfaces that ensure a secure connection between wood and iron.

The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to an expedient embodiment of a reinforced wooden beam shown in cross section in the drawing. It shows :
Fig. 1 the wooden beam in the glued state and Fig. 2 the wooden layers of the wooden beam in a separated state.

The different wood layers of the beam are designated with 1 and the square iron intended for reinforcing the wood with 2. As can be seen from the drawing, the square ants are completely embedded in the wood and fitted in triangular grooves 3, which are provided in the mutually adjacent sides 4 of the layers 1 in such a way that those indicated by dash-dotted lines 5 in FIG Hypotenuses of the triangles and, as a result, one of the diagonal planes of the square iron 2 indicated by a dash-dotted line 6 in FIG. 1 coincide with the contact planes of the mutually adjacent sides 4.

The corners of the grooves 3, which form the tips of the triangles, are widened, and the corner widenings 7 brought about thereby consist of recesses in the wood which are open in the grooves 3 and have a rectangular cross section.

If the bond between wood and square iron is a glue bond, a significant amount of pressure must be applied to create a good bond between wood and iron. Up to now, it has been associated with difficulties in bringing about the necessary pressure between the wooden and iron surfaces resting against one another and to be connected to one another. Due to the arrangement of the triangular grooves 3 in the wood layers 1 and the corner extensions 7, the pressure exerted on the glue bandage in the structure is entirely absorbed by the bandage, u. thanks to the good contact between the wooden and iron surfaces that lie against each other.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Reinforced wood, consisting of square irons attached between layers in the wood and glued to it, characterized in that the square irons (2) completely embedded in the wood are attached in triangular grooves (3) which are in the manner in the mutually adjacent sides ( 4) of the layers (1) are provided that the hypotenuses (5) of the triangles and thereby one of the diagonal planes (6) of the square iron (2) coincide with the planes of the mutually adjacent layer sides (4).
