this ensures constant air circulation, so that damage is also excluded if, for example, due to inattention, the umbrella should not be completely dry before being placed in the cover.

The subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. The figure shows a screen encased according to the invention.

The umbrella enclosed by the cover 10 has a handle 11 with a release button 12, to which a carrying loop 14 is attached by means of a ring 13. The other end of the umbrella is provided in a known manner with a crown cap 15 which extends through a receiving opening of the umbrella cover 10 assigned to it. The umbrella cover 10 is stiffened in the area of the crown cap 15 by a ring 16 indicated by dashed lines in the drawing. A collar 17, which can be closed by push buttons 18, rests firmly against the grip area of the umbrella. The separation point of the collar is preferably continued in a longitudinal slot extending over part of the length of the casing.

Between the ring 16 and the ring collar 17, the middle length region 19 of the umbrella envelope extends, loosely bulging around the umbrella, in a roughly barrel shape. For this purpose, the central length region 19 of the screen shell 10 is preferably approximately cylindrical in its basic shape, its diameter corresponding to a multiple of the actual screen diameter. The ends of the part 19, which is cylindrical in its basic shape, are connected to the ring collar 17 on the one hand and to the ring 16 on the other hand. Furthermore, the length of the central length region of the casing 10, which is cylindrical in its basic shape, is greater than the clamping length that occurs during use, so that the middle length region 19, extend over the longitudinal folds, can bulge.

By choosing the excess length, the degree of expansion can be influenced.

The embodiment shown is only an exemplary implementation of the invention. This is not limited to this. On the contrary, many other designs are possible. Thus, for example, the middle length region 19 of the shell 10 could already have an approximately barrel-shaped or double-conical shape in its basic shape, although such designs generally place a burden on production.

Instead of a snap fastener 18 for the ring collar 17, a hook fastener, in some cases also a zip fastener, which preferably extends into part of the central length region 19, could be used. The screen cover according to the invention could also be used for other screens.
