Description

AT 002 585 UlAT 002 585 Ul

Kühlschränken, Waschmaschinen, in Kraftfahrzeugen usw., eingesetzt. Als Naturfasern kommen z. B. Hanf, Flachs, Sisal, Baumwolle, Holzfasern, Tierhaare, insbesondere Schafechurwolle, in Frage. The invention relates to an impregnated insulating mat made of natural fibers, synthetic fibers or mixtures thereof and a method for their impregnation. Insulating mats of the type mentioned at the outset are preferably required as substitutes for glass or mineral wool mats for insulating heat and against cold and sound. You will u. a. for building roofs, roof extensions, walls, ceilings, in construction as well as for machines and devices, e.g. Refrigerators, washing machines, in motor vehicles, etc., used. As natural fibers come e.g. B. hemp, flax, sisal, cotton, wood fibers, animal hair, especially sheep's wool, in question. Synthetic fibers can be fibers made of polyester, polyacrylic or viscose. Impregnation of these fibers or the insulating mats and molded parts made from them are to prevent mold formation in natural fibers and in all fiber materials of the type in question to comply with the safety regulations, in particular fire regulations, eg. B. the fire regulation B 2 according to DIN 4102, necessary. So far, mainly boron salt has been used as the impregnation material, which is sprayed onto the fibers in solution or attached by immersing the fibers in the solution. After drying, the boron salts sit here as crystals on the fiber surface and can be rubbed off from there under mechanical loads, such as when processing the fibers in fleece systems, during installation and also as a result of vibrations that occur during use, so that they sprout. The effect sought by the impregnation is thereby reduced or, in extreme cases, even canceled. Boron salts contribute to environmental pollution, so that when disposing of impregnated mats u. a. Because of the otherwise possible damage to the groundwater, special safety regulations must be observed and special care is required.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide an impregnated insulation mat that meets all of the above requirements for impregnation, but the impregnation materials used are environmentally compatible and not harmful to health and, moreover, have better adhesion to or in the fibers than the conventional impregnation materials show.

The problem is solved in principle in that the impregnation consists at least for the most part of soda (Na2C03), which was applied in the form of a hot solution in water to the fibers, the insulating mats or molded parts made from them, so that the soda after the drying has partially penetrated into the fiber and encloses it.

Soda is a natural material that e.g. B. also occurs in mineral water in small quantities and is harmless to humans, animals and the environment. When used, it is surprising that it shows better and safer adhesion to the fibers after drying and does not tend to powdering. In addition, soda-impregnated mats can be disposed of without hesitation, whereby mats made of natural fibers can rot without polluting the environment.

According to a preferred embodiment, with most materials a completely sufficient impregnation is achieved in that the weight of the impregnating soda in the dry state is 2-3% of the weight of the goods. The amount is chosen somewhat larger if it is fine or porous fibers, whereas less porous and thicker fibers with smaller amounts are sufficient.

3 AT 002 585 UlA particularly simple manufacturing process results when a solution is made from 150-300 g of soda per liter of water and is hot at 100-160 ° C., preferably 140 ° C., on the fibers, the insulating mats or molded parts made from them in one of the order of 10% of the weight of the goods is applied, after which the fibers, insulation mats or molded parts are dried at elevated temperature. 3 AT 002 585 Ul

4Exemplary embodiment: For the impregnation of an insulating mat made of sheep's wool, a solution of 300 g of soda per liter of water is prepared, heated to 140 ° C and applied in an amount of 10% of the weight of the sheep's wool by spraying. Then the insulation mat is also dried at an elevated temperature. 4th
