  Isolator.
 EMI1.1

  Insulator.
 EMI1.1
Grooves of different diameters are provided in order to be able to clamp wires of different thicknesses (e.g. American patent specification No. 75927G).

The subject of the present invention is a two-part insulator, the upper part of which also has grooves of different diameters, so that differently sized wire openings are formed by rotating them against the grooves of the lower part, whereby wires of different thicknesses can be clamped without binding.

The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of such an insulator in FIG. 1 disassembled in longitudinal section and assembled in FIG. 2; Fig. 3 illustrates a top view of the base.

The insulator according to the present invention consists of the upper part b and the lower part a, crsterer is provided with a pin c which fits into the square opening c of the lower part a. A hole goes through the center of the insulator and serves to hold the fastening screw. The two halves of the insulator are provided with four straight through grooves d of different diameters. The offset of the grooves against each other enables 16 different openings, so that an insulator for different wire thicknesses can be used with braided wires up to a maximum diameter.

The wide scope in the selection of the wire openings makes it possible to clamp a single wire sufficiently firmly without impairing the good fit of the two insulator parts. The shape of the grooves can be wavy instead of straight, as shown, and their inner surface can be ribbed instead of smooth.
