<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
etwa 12, 5 mm.

B. Austrian. Patent No. 248949) to arrange interruption points about 7, 6 cm from each edge.
According to a further development of the invention, those surface areas of the sack or.

Printing ink, which does not adhere to itself, so that the walls for the purpose of facilitating the
The passage of gases or vapors are relatively easy to separate from one another. This prevents these walls from sticking to one another, so that the walls stand out from one another relatively easily in order to allow gases or vapors to pass through. It has been found that printing inks are particularly suitable for such a coating, as are usually used for printing synthetic plastic material, e.g. B. polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride can be used. However, according to the invention, those surface areas of the bag or bag can also be used.
Bag walls that are opposite each other at an interruption point can be provided with a coating that adheres or sticks to itself, so that these walls adhere to each other and only open when the pressure in the bag or inside the bag has reached a predetermined value. In this way, if desired, the escape of air or volatile substances from the sack or bag can be prevented up to a predetermined value.
The inventive method for producing the sack or bag according to the invention is based on a procedure in which a cover strip folded in its longitudinal direction is placed over the entire width of the open end of a plastic tube section forming the sack or bag, so that on each side of the sack or bag is a flap of the cover strip, and wherein the two outer surfaces of the hose section with the cover strip each through a seam, z. B. a heat-sealed seam, be tightly connected. On the basis of this, the method according to the invention consists in that the two inner surfaces of the hose section over the entire width by a further seam, z.
B. a heat-sealed seam, which is at a distance from the folding edge of the cover strip, are tightly connected to one another, with a connection being excluded at least at one point. As a result, the bag can be produced simply and with little outlay in terms of equipment. The recess of the connection can be conveniently z. B. be done in that at the point of interruption between the walls of the sack or bag or between the walls of the same and the walls of the plates of the cover strip, a protective material is inserted, which prevents the walls in question from sealingly connected to each other at this point, for. B. heat sealed.
This protective material must be made in such a way that it does not fuse with the material of the parts of the sack or pouch that are otherwise to be connected under the conditions that occur during the sealing process. The protective material can be formed by a finely divided solid phase which is stabilized in a liquid carrier phase. Printing inks have also proven useful as protective material in the above sense, e.g. B. Printing inks for printing on synthetic base material. However, nail polish, various paints or strips of aluminum foil, cellulose pressure sensitive adhesive tape, etc. can also be used.
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention emerge from the description of exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention, which are shown schematically in the drawings. 1 shows the open end of a plastic sack, FIG. 2 shows a side view of the sack formed with a closure according to the invention. 3 and 4 show cross sections along the line A-A in FIG. 2 through the sack and the cover strip before sealing, with FIGS. 3 and 4 showing two different variants of the application of the protective strips. Fig. 5 is a cross-section through the sack and cover strip corresponding to Figs. 3 and 4, but after the sealing process.
FIGS. 6 and 7 show cross sections through the bag and the cover strip
EMI2.1
two different variants of the application of the protective strip, which correspond to those of FIGS. 4 and 5. 8 is a vertical section through the sack and the cover strip according to FIGS. 6 and 7, but after the sealing process has been carried out.
The walls - 12, 14 - of the open end of a sack - 10 - are provided with protective strips -16-. The material of these protective strips in the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 6 lies between the inner surfaces of the walls - 12, 14 - and consists of the sealing-preventing printing ink of the type commonly used for printing on synthetic plastics material. It is not necessary to apply the protective strip to both inner surfaces of the walls; it is sufficient to apply it to an inner surface, e.g. B. on the wall - 14--.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 7, the protective strip is applied to the outer surface of the walls - 12, 14 - and consists of a hot-melting synthetic plastic that prevents sealing. The protective strips --16 - are about 7.6 to 20 mm wide, preferably
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
about 12.5mm.
Over the outer surfaces of the walls - 12, 14 - a cover strip --18-- is folded in its longitudinal direction and has two tabs --18a, 18b - separated by the folding edge --19--. On the inner surfaces of the side walls --12, 14-- there is a seam --20-- and on the outer surfaces there is a seam -23--, which seams between the inner surfaces of the walls -12, 14- or. between the outer surfaces and the cover strip - are produced by heat sealing. The seams - 20, 23 - are at a distance from the folded edge - 19 - of the cover strip - 18 - so that a channel-shaped cavity 22 is formed.
The protective strips --16-- prevent the inner surfaces of the walls --12, 14-- or the outer surfaces and the cover strips --18-- from sticking to one another at the points of the protective strips, so that interruptions - 17-- in the seam-20 or 23-are formed. These interruption points --17-- are created in the following way: In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 6, the protective strip -16-is unsealable with the material of the sack, with the inner surfaces of the wall-12, 14- due to the presence of the protective strip cannot be sealed together at these points.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 7, the protective strip is unsealable with the material of the sack and the cover strip, so that the outer surfaces of the walls -12, 14- with the tabs-18a, 18b-of the cover strip are not at these points can be sealed together. The protective strip absorbs so much heat during the sealing process that it acts as an insulating material, which prevents enough heat from reaching the inner surfaces of the walls - 12, 14 - or. reaches the outer surfaces and the cover strip and thereby prevents the two walls from being sealed to one another.
Gases or vapors trapped in the bag --10-- can pass through the interruption points
EMI3.1
of the channel-shaped cavity --22-- and the interruption points --17-- and due to the length of the channel --22-- moisture cannot enter the sack --10-- or such moisture entry is at least considerably more difficult.
