Durch die Verwendung solcher Steine werden, wie eingangs dargelegt, folgende Vorteile erzielt : Die Steine scharfen sich selbst, d. b. man braucht dieselben nicht mehr zu schärfen, so dass sie nunmehr in jedem'Betriebe, auch in dem kleinsten, benutzt werden können, ohne dass eine auf die   Bedienung eingeübte   Person vorhanden sein muss. Das Mahlgut bleibt stets kühl, leidet nicht durch Überhitzung, weil dasselbe durch   offeiibleibende   Kanäle abgegeben wird.

   Abgesehen   davon, dass die Leistung   des Steines immer eine gleich grosse bleibt und nicht, wie bei den gewöhnlichen Steinen, eine sich nach und nach vermindernde Menge von Mahlgut liefert, wird weiterhin durch die starker wirkende und gegenüber Natursteinen erhebliche   grössere Schnoidnlche   eine höhere Leistung erreicht. 



  Diese Leistung beträgt wegen der geringeren   Flächenreibung   gegenüber den natürlichen Steinen bei gleichem Kraftaufwand mehr als das Dreifache.
