individual, originally spherical meta droplets are deposited next to and on top of each other in the form of thin membranes; in this way they form an intimately cohesive layer with a very dense and tough structure. The objects provided with such metal coatings can withstand any mechanical treatment, such as grinding, polishing, pressing, punching, pressing, etc., without the fear of loosening the sprayed-on metal layer.
The type and character of the coating depend on various conditions, so it is not possible to specify these conditions for each individual case. Rather, they are directed
1. according to the melting point of the metal in question,
2. according to the character and condition of the metal to be coated,
3. according to the thickness of the coatings.
However, the favorable conditions in each case can easily be determined by one or more preliminary tests.
In many cases it may be advisable to use suitable methods, e.g. B. by means of a sandblasting blower or pickling, to free from adhering dirt, oxide, fat; By preheating the objects to be treated, the relationship between the surface to be treated and the applied metal becomes so intimate that a combination of the materials similar to that of welding takes place.
To increase the light fluidity of the coating metal, this can either be done by others
EMI2.2
The fields of application of the present method are varied and numerous.
So z. B. the process serve to "metallize" all possible objects and t's is particularly advantageous over the known electroplating process where it is a matter of coating non-conductive surfaces (wood, glass, plaster of paris) with metal.
EMI2.3
Kind to be reproduced; seamless metal pipes can be produced by removing the original backing material in a suitable manner after the metal coating has been carried out.
Objects made of such materials as wood and iron, which suffer from constant contact with water or the weather, can be water-resistant by means of such a metal coating.
EMI2.4
Flying machines and the hulls of boats, yachts, the latter have so far been protected by riveted aluminum sheets.
The method can also be used for various decorative purposes.
After the process, it is still possible to use seliweiss or. Making solder-like connections between two metal feet or parts of any material by
