Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft neue intermetallische Clathrate vom Typ I mit der folgenden allgemeinen Zusammensetzungsformel: Ba8-xRExTyIV46-y, worin: RE für ein oder mehrere Seltenerdelemente, ausgewählt aus La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb und Lu steht; T für ein oder mehrere d-Übergangsmetalle steht; IV für ein oder mehrere Elemente der 4. Hauptgruppe des Periodensystems, ausgewählt aus Si, Ge, Sn und Pb steht; x eine Zahl ist, für die gilt: 0 < x < 8; und y eine Zahl ist, für die gilt: 0 < y ≤ 6; sowie ein Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung und ihre Verwendung in thermoelektrischen Modulen.
