Luftschraube.

Propeller.
Air elbows should be as thin as possible at their cutting edge in order to result in extremely low resistance when cutting through the air.
Although a razor-sharp edge cannot be achieved at all with propellers made of wood, the edges of the wings are nevertheless weakened to such an extent that damage to the wing edges is inevitable.
As a result of the centrifugal force occurring during the rapid rotation of the screw, the weakened wing parts can also come loose, which is associated with great dangers for the pilot.
According to the invention, these inconveniences are prevented in that the screw is framed at its edge with a resistant material, which not only effectively prevents damage to the wing edges, but also significantly stiffens the entire wing. In addition, this covering enables a razor-sharp design of the wing edges.
The trim can enclose the wing edges in a band-like manner and be guided as far as the vicinity of the hub of the screw or can also partially or completely cover the hub of the screw.
If necessary, the trim on the wing edges can be widened, so that not only the wing edge but the entire tapered wing end is protected.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in an exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1 in a view. Fig. 2 shows a further embodiment in view and Fig. 3 in section.
The screw wings 1 are lined with a resistant material, for example a metal band 2, which in the illustrated embodiment extends up to the hub of the screw. Of course, the trim 2 can be continued so that it completely or partially covers the hub of the screw. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2, the trim @ 2 at the tip of the wing is widened in such a way that not only the wing edge but also the weakened wing tips are covered.
EMI1.1
is provided with a razor-sharp edge.
By enclosing the wing edges with a resistant material, not only is damage to the wing cutting edges effectively prevented, but the entire wing is also substantially stiffened.
