Vorrichtung zur Anzeige gesundheitsschädlicher Gase.
Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einem Glaskolben a, der an beiden Enden kugelförmig ausgebildet und zum Teil mit Weingeist gefüllt ist. Die eine Kugel (in der Figur rechts) ist mit Asbest umhüllt und mit Platinmoor bestrichen. Der Glaskolben ist in einer Lasche d drehbar befestigt und wird durch ein Gewicht e in der dargestellten Lage gehalten. Ausserdem ist der Kolben mit einer Auslösezunge d versehen. Diese steht einer Blattfeder g gegenüber, die mit einem Stift in einen vertikalen, verschiebbaren Auslösehahenf eingreift und denselben gegen die Spannung einer Spiralfeder in seiner oberen Lage festhält.
Strömt nun in dem Raume, in den sich der Apparat z. B. unter der Zimmerdecke befindet, Leuchtgas oder Kohlenoxydgas aus, so wird durch das Platinmoor die rechtseitige Kugel erhitzt, der Weingeist dehnt sich aus und wird hiedurch in die linkseitige Kugel getrieben. Infolgedessen fällt der Glaskolben auf die andere Seite und bewirkt mittels Zunge d die Auslösung des Hakens f. Hiedurch kann z. B. ein Läutewerk in Tätigkeit gesetzt werden.
