Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Aluminiumlegierung.

  Aluminum alloy.

   For certain technical purposes, materials are required which combine the highest possible degree of hardness with the lowest possible specific weight.

   The intended purpose is achieved to a high degree if aluminum is used as the basic substance and, depending on the desired degree of hardness, a more or less large amount of zinc, iron and finally silicon and copper are added to it.

   An alloy that is very useful for many purposes is obtained using the following mean values: 88 parts by weight of aluminum, 10 parts by weight of zinc, 1 part by weight of iron, 0.5 parts by weight of silicon, 0-5 parts by weight of copper. But other conditions are also permissible.
