Heatable pressing tool for the production of lacing needles interspersed with celluloid on lacing straps.
The invention relates to a pressing tool for the production of lanyard needles, in which a celluloid plate inserted into the tubular end of the lacing belt is to be converted into the round shape after treatment with suitable chemicals using pressure and heat in such a way that the textile fabric parts of the lacing belt are intimately connected connect to the celluloid. This purpose is to be achieved by the special design of the two pressing jaws of the pressing tool, by means of which the lace end provided with the celluloid rod is formed into the finished lace needle.
The jaws, which are semicircular in cross-section and conical in the longitudinal direction, have at one end, where the tip of the needle is formed, an end wall with a small opening through which the excess celluloid can escape. In the absence of this passage opening, the celluloid would burn or fizzle out, whereas if the opening is present, the tip is kept in excellent shape, in such a way that the outermost end of the tip is also covered with celluloid, whereby the protruding of frayed parts Lacing strap material is avoided.
The drawing illustrates the tool. It is a the fixed jaw, b the movable jaw; Both have working surfaces e, d which are semicircular in cross section and which, as FIG. 2 illustrates, run conically so that they form a tube which corresponds to the shape of the lace needle to be formed. At the dome-tapered end, the working surfaces 0, d, as can be seen at f, are drawn together to form a wall that closes off the tube, which is provided with a passage opening g through which the superfluous celluloid can escape when the needles are pressed. 3) of the outer needle end is made with celluloid and the lacing strap material is thus completely covered.
