   Zur Isolierung elektrischer Leitungen, welche namentlich im Freien Verwendung finden sollen, ist es erforderlich, dio   faserige Schutzhülle,   die in den meisten   Fällen   nos einem Flechtwerke besteht und in der freien Atmosphäre sehr rasch einer Verwitterung anheim fällt, mit einer besonders wetterfesten Imprägnierung zu versehen. 



     Tränkungsmittel,   die aus einem Gemisch   einer MetallsauerstoffverbiEdung mit   einem trocknenden Öle bestehen, sind im allgemeinen bereits bekannt. 



   Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft nun ein   Tränkungsmittel,   das durch Verreiben eines trocknenden Öles mit Tonerde, vorzugsweise mit Bauxit, erhalten wird. 



   Wird die   faserige SchntzhüHe   der Leitung mit   dieser Masse getränkt, 80   ergibt sich als besonderer Vorteil, dass ein äusserst elastischer und dabei besonders wetterfester Überzug entsteht, welcher den an Freileitungen gestellten hohen Ansprüchen in hohem Grade entspricht.
