come in omission and the housing 14 are carried out in the same width. Furthermore, the odor trap can also be omitted, since the gases that are formed can be drawn off directly. However, a flap can also be attached to the water inlet instead of the odor trap. Finally, the ribs 19 for carrying the mud bucket 10 can be replaced by feet on this for standing up.

The pipe strings 8 of the channel drainage opening into the feed openings 17 are protected against the canal air rising up in the shaft 9 by the water seal 16 or a flap to be used instead. The latter takes its way out of the pipe opening 22, which also serves as a drain, between the wall of the housing 14 and the sludge bucket 10 through to the box cover, which is provided with openings in a known manner.

The water that gets into the sludge bucket 10 through the water seal 76 or the flap and the inlet 18 gets rid of its sludge in the latter and, as far as the permeability of the perforated sludge bucket 10 allows, reaches the opening 22. As soon as the permeability of the sludge bucket 10 velsagt or the same is overfilled, the water falls directly over the edge of the bucket 10, the partial increase of the sludge bucket 10 by the wall 20 regulates the distribution of the draining water in such a way that the space between the sludge bucket 10 and housing 14 is not used for drainage the rising duct air remains open.

The arrangement shown offers the advantage that the supply and discharge lines are accessible and thus blockages of these line parts and of the box itself are completely excluded.

By avoiding the water sack (pot recess) that is common in gullies, the sludge is retained with little water, so that the contents of the sludge bucket can be used considerably more. Several road entrances can therefore be introduced into a mud trap, as is the case, for example, at road crossings.
