   Zur Verschiebung der Elektrode ist die Hülse 2 mit einer Verzahnung versehen, in welche ein Zahnrad 4 eingreift, das in einer gusseisernen Hülse gelagert ist und durch ein Handrad 6 in Umdrehung versetzt werden kann. 



   Um die abgebrannt Elektrode weiter zu verschieben oder zu erneuern, sind die Muttern 3 und 8 zu lösen, wodurch die in der   Hülse 1 festgeklemmte   Elektrode freigegeben wird und somit weiterbewegt oder eine neue Elektrode in bekannter Weise nachgeschoben werden kann, worauf die eine Elektrode durch Anziehen der Muttei 3 festgeklemmt und durch die Mutter 8 abgedichtet wird. Durch diese   Anordnung   wird das Herunternehmen des ganzen wassergekühlten Elektrodenhalters, wie dies bei anderen Öfen der Fall ist, gänzlich vermieden.

   In order to move or replace the burnt-out electrode further, the nuts 3 and 8 must be loosened, whereby the electrode clamped in the sleeve 1 is released and thus moved further or a new electrode can be pushed in in a known manner, whereupon one electrode can be tightened the nut 3 is clamped and sealed by the nut 8. This arrangement completely avoids taking down the entire water-cooled electrode holder, as is the case with other furnaces.

PATENT CLAIM: Electrode holder for electric furnaces, in which the electrodes are adjustably held in place by a clamping device consisting of cylindrical sleeves with conical contact surfaces, characterized in that the inner sleeve (1) of the clamping device inserted in a fixed, open sleeve is externally threaded, into which on the one hand a nut (3) rotatably connected to the outer sleeve (2) for clamping and sealing the electrode against the inside of the hearth, on the other hand a second nut (8) engages, which in a known manner through sealing material (9) provided between it and the electrode causes the electrode to be sealed airtight.
