  Herdplatte.

  Stove top.

In order to eliminate various drawbacks of the cast iron hotplates, in particular their brittleness and easy breakability, they are rolled from wrought iron. In spite of the many good properties of these plates, they have not proven their worth, as they soften as a result of the sudden attack of the heat and are bent under a relatively low load. These inconveniences are remedied according to the invention in that a corrugated sheet is attached to the lower surface of the plate.

This stiffens the plate and also keeps the sudden heat away from it. The space between the upper hob and corrugated iron plate can be filled with asbestos or fireclay to make the transfer of heat even more gradual and to delay the cooling of the plate. The corrugation enables the heating surface to be enlarged.

The drawing shows an example of an embodiment of such a hotplate, namely: FIG. 1 shows a cross section, FIG. 2 shows a view from below. a, al are the upper stove plates with which the corrugated iron plates b, bl are connected by riveting, screwing, electrical welding or the like. c are bends in the top plate at those points where the Minsatzringe should be inserted. Folds are provided on the longitudinal edges of the panels, by means of which the individual panels are connected next to one another.

The direction of the corrugations can be arbitrary, they can also be arranged crosswise.
