Aus Zelluloid oder dessen Ersatzmitteln hergestellter Schwimmer.
Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Schwimmer, insbesondere für Klosett - Spülvorrichtungen, und besteht darin, dass der Schwimmer ans Zelluloid oder aus einem Ersatz. mittel für Zelluloid hergestellt wird.
Bekanntlich wurden bisher derartige Schwimmer hauptsächlich aus Metallen erzeugt, doch weisen diese Mängel auf. Das Material rostet bald durch und es entstehen Löcher, durch welche das Wasser eindringt, wodurch die beabsichtigte Wirkung vereitelt wird.
Schwimmer aus Kork oder Holz werden gleichfalls vom Wasser angegriffen und zerstört.
Um diesem Übelstande abzuhelfen, versuchte man es mit Schwimmern aus Glas oder Porzellan. Solche Schwimmer sind jedoch sehr gebrechlich und dieser Umstand allein schliesst deren praktische Verwendung aus. Überdies sind dieselben verhältnismässig schwer und daher der Auftrieb ein viel zu geringer. Auch Aluminiumschwimmer erwiesen sich nicht als gut verwendbar, weil das Aluminium sich im Wasser verändert bzw. oxydiert. Gegen- über diesen bekannten Schwimmern besitzen aus Zelluloid oder aus dessen Ersatzmitteln hergestellte grosse Haltbarkeit, sie werden vom Wasser nicht angegriffen und überdies ist der Auftrieb viel grösser als bei den bisher praktisch angewendeten. Ein weiterer Vorteil liegt in der billigeren Herstellung der Schwimmer.

Another advantage is that the floats are cheaper to manufacture.
