An denjenigen Stellen der Kollektoroberfläche, welche weder von den Borsten be strichen noch durch Isolationsmaterial geschützt sind, sammelt sich leicht Staub an, der, wenn er leitend ist, unter Umständen die schmalen Isolationslamellen überbrückt. Ins.. besondere kann es bei den Innenflächen raschlaufender Kollektoren vorkommen, dass sich infolge der Zentrifugalkraft leitende Teilchen quer über die Isolationslamellen legen und zwei leitende Lamellen kurzschliessen.
Um derartige Missstände zu verhüten, ist man bestrebt, grosse isolierende Flächen zwischen den stromführenden Metallamellen zu schaffen, was durch Verlängerung der Isoiationslamellen nach der Innenseite des Kollektors zu erzielt wird.
Um beträchtliche Verlängerungen der Isolationslamellen zu erzielen, ist es nötig, die freien Enden mechnisch zu versteifen, was mit vorliegender Erfindung erreicht wird, und zwar dadurch, dass jede zweite Metallamelle nach innen verlängert wird und sich die dünnen freien Enden der Isolationssegmente auf diese Metallamellen abstützen.
