Verfahren zur Darstellung wasserlöslicher Kondensationsprodukte.
Man gelangt zu neuen Kondensationsprodukten von technisch wichtigen Eigenschaften, wenn man Naphtalinsulfosäuren bei Gegenwart von Schwefelsäure, bzw. Naphtalin bei Gegenwart von Schwefelsäure mit Glykolsäure kondensiert. Die gewonnenen Produkte sind in Wasser leicht löslich und fällen Leimlösungen in neutraler und saurer Lösung. Statt Glykolsäure können auch glykolsaure Salze, z. B. Calziumglykolat, zur Verwendung kommen.
Beispiel : 60 kg Naphtalin werden durch Erwärmen mit 100 konzentrierter Schwefelsäure auf 70 bis 800 in die Sulfosäure überführt. Wenn das Produkt in Wasser löslich geworden ist, gibt man nach und nach 17'8 kg techno Glykolsäure zu und erwärmt weiter auf die gleiche Temperatur wie vorher. Gegebenenfalls wird nachher noch auf 130 bis 1500 erhitzt, doch so, dass keine nennenswerte Gasentwicklung erfolgt. Man verdünnt nach Beendigung der Reaktion mit Wasser. Die Lösung kann nach vollständiger oder teilweiser Neutralisation verwendet werden.

New condensation products with technically important properties are obtained if naphthalene sulfonic acids are condensed in the presence of sulfuric acid or naphthalene in the presence of sulfuric acid with glycolic acid. The products obtained are easily soluble in water and precipitate glue solutions in neutral and acidic solutions. Instead of glycolic acid, glycolic acid salts, e.g. B. calcium glycolate, come to use.
Example: 60 kg of naphthalene are converted into sulfonic acid by heating with 100% concentrated sulfuric acid to 70 to 800. When the product has become soluble in water, 17'8 kg of techno glycolic acid are gradually added and the mixture is heated to the same temperature as before. If necessary, it is then heated to between 130 and 1500, but in such a way that no significant gas development occurs. After the reaction has ended, it is diluted with water. The solution can be used after complete or partial neutralization.
