Device for the conversion of heavy mineral oil fractions, such as crude and leueth petroleum.
Naphtha and residues from petroleum distillation, in light, volatile oils.
The present invention relates to such devices for converting heavy mineral oil fractions, such as. B. crude and luminescent petroleum, naphtha and residues of petroleum distillation, in light, volatile oils, which consist of an evaporation boiler for the heavy oil to be treated, the bottom with a feed line for the heavy oil vapors to be added and with these via a catalytically active metal, for example via nickel, hydrogen to be conducted and at the top with a vertical exhaust pipe.
The aim of the new device is to carry out the treatment of the heavy oils for the stated purpose more quickly and economically than was possible with the previously known apparatus and at the same time to recycle a larger part of the distillation residues that were previously unusable. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the exhaust pipe is provided with a cooling system and contains perforated plates made of a catalytically active metal and arranged at a distance from one another.
FIG. 1 of the drawing illustrating the invention by way of example shows the new device in vertical longitudinal section; FIG. 2 shows a section taken along line 2-2 of FIG.
This device consists of a bladder a into which the heavy oil to be treated is placed. The hydrogen is generated by a reaching to the deepest point of the bladder

In the interior of the tube c, according to the invention, a number of nickel plates cl are attached which are held in the correct position by a rod c2 arranged in the middle of the tube c. The nickel disks close the tube completely and are provided with a large number of small holes (Fig, 2) through which the steam passes. This creates an intimate contact between the steam and the surface of the
EMI1.2
The upper end of the tube c is connected by a line d to a condensing apparatus of any suitable type, for example a water-cooled apparatus in which the water enters through a pipe d1 and which it leaves through a pipe d2. The volatile oil precipitated in the condenser exits through a pipe fitted with a tap e and is attached to the lower part of the condenser and is collected in a container f; this is provided with a tube at the top through which the hydrogen used for the process is discharged for the purpose of recovery.
The pipe c is provided with a water cooling g in order to keep the temperature so low that a complete condensation of the vapors of the heavy oil forming the residue is ensured in this pipe c itself. The condensed heavy oil flows back into the bubble a. This device prevents heavy oil vapors from being carried away into the condenser for the vapors of the volatile oil.
The system also has a container h for the welding oil to be treated, which is connected to the bladder a by a pipe ho provided with a tap. The inflow of the crude oil into the bubble a is regulated in accordance with the production of volatile oil.
