Gemenges in entsprechenden Formen.

Process for the production of shaped pieces from coal, ore or metal waste.
Most of the previously common processes for the production of shaped pieces from coal dust, ore, metal waste u. Like. Based on the mixing of the starting material with a liquid or solid binder and the subsequent pressing of the
Mixture in appropriate forms. When using an aqueous binder, the mixed material must be freed from excess water by heating in order to achieve malleability and sufficiently strong cohesion, which requires a significant amount of fuel and makes complex evaporation systems necessary.
Solid binders have to be converted into solution or suspension before they can be used, which usually requires heating and is associated with losses because an excess of binder must be used to ensure that every particle is evenly surrounded on all sides by the binder.
The invention now consists in the production of shaped pieces by means of a low-water, liquid binder, which is such that the mixture can be cold-formed without further ado and a weather- and pressure-resistant shaped piece is obtained immediately after pressing.
To produce the binding agent, sulphite waste liquor is made strongly alkaline in a known manner and evaporated until a sample of the boiling mass solidifies immediately when it cools in the air. Once this degree of concentration has been reached, so much heavy mineral oil is added to the hot mass, with constant stirring, until a new one. ngs removed sample remains liquid after complete cooling in the air. The mixture thus obtained is the binder to be used for the purposes of the invention. When mixing coal dust, small ore, metal shavings or the like with this binder, a pressable material is easily obtained which, after pressing, provides shaped pieces that withstand the effects of moisture, temperature changes and pressure without any post-treatment.
Such fittings can be stored outdoors without disintegrating; Coal briquettes keep their shape in the fire until the coal parts burn out. E, z and metal briquettes prove to be so pressure-resistant in the blast furnace or cupola furnace that they retain their shape until the melting heat is reached.
