Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung eines auf kaltem Wege verwendbaren Bindemittels für die Brikettierung von Kohle-, Erz- und Metallabfällen aus alkalisch gemachter Zellstoffablauge. Zum Brikettieren von Brennstoffen unter Zuhilfenahme von Zellstoffablauge als Bindemittel hat man die Ablauge so weit eingedickt, daß sich eine in der Wärme noch plastische; in der Kälte aber harte und spröde Masse bildete. Diese wurde fein gemahlen, mit den zu brikettierenden Stoffen gemischt und dies Gemisch dann in erhitztem Zustande den Pressen zugeführt. Bei einer anderen Ausführungsform dieses Verfahrens hat man der Zellstoffablauge während des Eindickens oder hinterher, also bei erhöhter Temperatur, Teererzeugnisse, Asphalt, Harze, Wachs oder Leim zugefügt, zu dem Zwecke, eine Zersetzung der in der Lauge enthaltenen Schwefelverbindungen herbeizuführen. Andere Verfahren zur Nutzbarmachung eingedickter Zellstoffablauge als Bindemittel auf kaltem Wege gehen davon aus, daß der Ablauge Kalk oder ein Aldehyd zugesetzt wird. Im ersteren Falle erhält man ein Bindemittel, däs bei Briketten den Aschengehalt erhöht und den Heizwert verringert sowie die Eigenschaft hat, in gewissem, allerdings nur unerheblichem Grade Feuchtigkeit anzuziehen. Beim Vermengen von Kohlenstaub, Erzklein, Metallspänen o. dgl. mit diesem Bindemittel erhält man ohne weiteres ein preßfähiges Gut, das nach dein Pressen Formstücke liefert, die ohne jede Nachbehandlung der Einwirkung von Feuchtigkeit, Temperaturänderungen und Druck widerstehen.
