 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Device for testing gas mixtures, which from several gas generation points, such. B. furnaces originate.

   Devices for testing gas mixtures of several gas generation points are already known in which the individual gas generation points are alternately connected to a common analyzer for a specific gas component by a distribution device. With these known devices, the gases from different production points can be examined in one and the same apparatus, but only one after the other and only for one component. Simultaneous testing of gas mixtures from two or more generating points for one or more types of gas was not possible with the devices known up to now for testing gas mixtures.

   When analyzing gas mixtures, namely the examination of the flue gases from furnaces, it is often desirable to determine another type of gas in addition to determining one type of gas in the mixture. When monitoring a furnace, it is not only necessary to determine the carbonic acid, but also the total content of carbonic acid and oxygen or both that of the carbonic acid and that of the oxygen.

   The present invention is based on the object of creating a simple device which meets these requirements and which allows the continuous, simultaneous testing of one type of gas in the mixture from several production points (furnaces), but also enables the gas mixture from two or more production points to be directed to one or more Gas types can be examined temporarily or continuously without impairing the simultaneous testing of the gas mixture for another gas type.

   According to the invention, this is achieved in that between the gas generation points and the distribution element, which leads to the individual device, separate analyzing devices are provided for each gas generation point, which are switched in such a way that a part of each of the gas flows sucked off from a generation point is simultaneously in the individual device and a part can be examined in the analyzing apparatus.

   In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention that is particularly suitable for flue gas testing of furnaces is illustrated schematically.

   From the furnaces a lead to the carbon dioxide analyzer e, lines b with branch valves c and lines d connected to them. From the lines d, lines f lead to multi-way taps g, by means of which any line f can be brought into connection with a line h which leads to the analyzer i, for example for oxygen or carbon oxide. In this way, both the oxygen content of the flue gases of each furnace a in the apparatus i can be determined at any time, as well as the determination of the carbon dioxide content in the corresponding apparatus. If, in addition, the carbon oxide content is to be examined, a further apparatus i is switched on in the same way.

   Apparatus i must of course be switched on in such a way that the connection of line a to one of lines j does not affect the gas flows to the corresponding apparatus f,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

In the example shown, two pipe groups f with two multi-way taps g are shown. Several such groups or just one can be arranged.

   Furthermore, in the example shown, two lines b are arranged on each furnace a in order to be able to take gas from one or the other part of the furnace.

  Liquid closures are provided at k, which prevent the apparatus from a
Apply suction to each other. Sucks z. B. the apparatus i from the first furnace a, then the first apparatus e should suck independently of it from the same furnace, without the one apparatus sucking from the other. These closures are expediently arranged in the vicinity of the apparatus.

  If the number of devices e is very large, more than one device i can possibly also be provided. It is only essential that there is always one apparatus i several
Apparatus e is common.

   The device described above ensures the continuous, simultaneous
Testing of the gases for a component for each generation point. This also makes it possible to mix the gases from two or more production points (furnaces) onto one or more components temporarily or continuously without impairing the first
Examination to investigate and guarantees a useful and good control of the combustion when used in furnaces.
