A heating appliance (20) has a regulator (1) fitted with an ignition circuit (2) connected by a wire (11) to an ignition electrode (21) fitted to a gas or oil burner (3) supplied with gas or oil via a fuel pipe (23) fitted with an electromagnetic valve (22). Fitted with a heat exchanger (24) with an exhaust gas-collecting hood (25) linked to a waste gas flue (26), a burner has a monitoring electrode (27) connected to the regulator by a wire (12).
