Abstract

1. A motor vehicle door lock, bonnet lock or the like with a locking latch (3), preferably a fork latch mounted on a swivel, a lock pawl (4) securing the locking latch (3) in the locked position, at least one actuation rod (5) for the locking latch (3) and the lock pawl (4), a servomotor (6) provided with gears if necessary, rotating in one direction only and preferably constructed as an electric motor, in which the servomotor (6) is connected on its power take-off side to a crank arm (7) and the crank arm (7) is articulated to the actuation rod (5), the locking latch (3) can be brought by means of the servomotor (6) from a pre-closing position into a fully-closed position and vice versa, and at least two stopping points (I, III) are provided for the servomotor (6), characterized in that the actuation rod (5) is constructed as an overload protection unit or is provided with an overload protection unit and that when a specified pressure force or tensional force is exceeded the actuation rod (5) can be forced together or extended from its normal working length to an overload length.
