Abstract

Door handle for opening a fridge or freezer door (2) comprises a slide (12) displaceably mounted on the narrow side of the door and pressing the door against a door frame or appliance body (14), and a handle (10) hinged to the slide on the front side of the door and actuating the slide to pull open the door. The handle is provided on the outer side of the door with a pivot bearing for pivoting the handle relative to the door between an open and a closed position. The pivot bearing has an instantaneous center of rotation (24) that at least for a part of the pivot movement of the handle lies between the open and closed position on the inner side of the door. Preferred Features: A removable snap connection (15) is provided between the handle and the slide.
