Abstract

A household press has a pivotally mounted heated plate (14) which cooperates with an ironing table (10). An endless conveyor belt (30) supported on spaced parallel rollers (32, 34) is provided in the ironing table (10). Drive means (39, 40) are also provided to drive the conveyor belt (30) in either of its longitudinal directions. When the heated plate (14) is closed onto the ironing table (10) the conveyor belt (30) is driven whereby an article to be pressed is moved between the heated plate and the ironing table. This enables a large article such as a sheet to be ironed quickly and conveniently. An electrical three-position reversing unit for reversing the direction of rotation of the drive motor (39) is activatable by a lever (46). <IMAGE>
