Abstract

A process and an apparatus for the production of printed coated films in which at least one plastic-containing, prepolymer- and/or precondensate-containing, non-heat-sealable outer layer (3) having a total thickness (measured after curing or drying) of from 2 to 40 mu m and containing free reactive chemical groups and coloured pigments and/or dyes and containing at least one solvent and/or diluent of more than 35 % by weight and/or liquid monomers and/or liquid prepolymers or precondensates is applied to a plastic release film (1) at temperatures between 10 DEG C and 90 DEG C, preferably from 20 DEG C to 60 DEG C, and a 10 to 95 mu m thick, transparent or translucent coating (5) having a coloured pigment content of less than 3 % by weight and made from a coating material which can be cured by means of electron beams is applied immediately on top of the outer layer or on top of an intermediate layer arranged above the outer layer, and the coating is cured with exposure to electron beams, and the coated film formed on the release plastic film after curing is peeled off the release plastic film. <IMAGE>
