Abstract

The chimney cowl is provided with a pipe connection piece (1), a truncated pyramid-shaped inner jacket (2) which projects upwards above the pipe connection piece (1), and a truncated pyramid-shaped outer jacket (4) which projects upwards above the inner jacket (2). The upper outlet opening (5) of the outer jacket is covered by a cover part (14) arranged above it. In order, even in the most extreme wind strengths and wind incidence directions, to prevent rain entering the chimney with pressure fluctuations in the outlet opening region of the chimney which are as small as possible and to improve the separation of the waste gas plume from the chimney cowl, there is arranged inside the upper part of the outer jacket (4) a cylindrical flow guide part (15) which projects upwards above the latter and is widened at the bottom. The lower inlet opening (16) of this part, which is widened downwards and outwards, projects beyond, seen in the axial direction of the cowl, the upper outlet opening (6) of the inner jacket (2) so that liquid condensing on this flow guide part (15) does not drip down into the chimney but onto the outside of the inner jacket (2) and evaporates there or on the cover and support plate (11) which is likewise heated. <IMAGE>
