Abstract
A method which is simple to implement and intended for connecting house discharge pipes to collecting mains uses a special sealing socket (1), consisting of a tubular, externally cylindrical member, one side of which is closed by a thin elastic membrane (5), the side lying opposite the membrane (5) of which is provided with an outwardly projecting rim (4) and the inner wall of which is cylindrical over a length of two-thirds, measured from the rim side, of the total length of the socket (1) and then forms a cone (7), the wall thickness increasing towards the membrane (5). The house discharge pipe (6) is introduced into the collecting main (8) from outside together with the sealing socket (1). The sealing socket (1) permits the repair of defective house discharge pipes without extensive earthwork. <IMAGE>
