Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sealing sleeve and its use in connecting house drain lines to the public sewer system.
House drain pipes are usually laid in such a way that first a trench is dug from the house to the collector and the pipes are placed on the bottom of the trench. The connection to the collector is made by prefabricated branch pipes in the collector.
If a collector is replaced by pulling in a plastic pipe ("relining"), this method can only be used with restrictions because, on the one hand, extensive earthworks have to be saved and, on the other hand, sealing the junction of the house drain line in the collector is difficult.
The task was to find a connection method which is simple to carry out and provides a reliable seal.
It has been found that the object can be achieved if a special sealing sleeve is used.
The invention thus relates to a sealing sleeve, consisting of a tubular, externally cylindrical body, one side of which is closed by a thin elastic membrane, on the side opposite the membrane an outwardly projecting bead is attached and the inner wall of which is measured over a length of two thirds from the bead side, the total length of the sleeve is cylindrical and then forms a cone, the wall thickness increasing towards the membrane and a method of using it.
The sleeve according to the invention is a tubular, externally cylindrical body, in which one side is closed by a thin elastic membrane. On the side opposite the membrane, the edge is provided with a bulge projecting outwards. The inner wall is also cylindrical in the upper area, but conical in the lower part. The wall thickness increases from about 2/3 of the wall length from the bead side to the closed side. The cylindrical part of the inner wall thus has a length of preferably two thirds of the total length of the sleeve, measured from the bead side.
The size of the sealing sleeve depends on the diameter of the pipes to be connected. The clear width of the sealing sleeve is dependent on the diameter of the house drain line and the length of the sleeve is dependent on the diameter - and the resulting wall thickness - of the collector. For example, if there is a plastic relining pipe in a stoneware collector, the sealing sleeve is particularly long. The wall thickness of the sleeve on the bead side is 9 to 10% of the clear width and increases by 20 to 30%, preferably 25%, towards the closed end. The height and width of the bead are 5 to 15%, based on the clear width. The sealing membrane is 0.2 to 1.0 mm thick, depending on the material from which the sleeve is made.
The sealing sleeve according to the invention consists of a rubber-elastic material, for example polychloroprene.
The sealing sleeve is intended for pipes made of conventional materials in which a relining pipe is located.
The method for using the sealing sleeve according to the invention is carried out in such a way that the house drain pipe is chamfered on the outside to a cone at the end facing the collector, the length and angle of the cone corresponding to the corresponding dimensions in the sleeve. The pipe end is then inserted into the sealing sleeve as far as it will go on the end membrane. Then, from a pit dug in a suitable place - if the collector is not accessible - towards the collector - or from the collector - if the collector is accessible - towards the house, a well is drilled. The diameter of this hole corresponds at least to the total diameter of the sealing sleeve in the ground, but in the collector wall to the diameter of the cylindrical part of the sleeve. The house drain pipe is now - sleeve first - pushed from the house through the hole until the sleeve with the bead rests on the outside of the collector wall. When the tube is pushed further, the end membrane is pierced. At the same time, the conical surfaces of the pipe and sleeve cause the sleeve to be distended and pressed firmly against the wall of the bore in the collector wall. The sleeve material forms an all-round sealing bead. That in the collector The protruding conical pipe end is cut off at a sufficient distance from the inner wall of the duct - if the duct is not accessible using a cutting robot.
The figures show a sealing sleeve according to the invention (Figure 1) and the processes in its application (Figure 2).
The sleeve (1) according to FIG. 1 has a smooth cylindrical outer wall (2) and an inner wall (3) which is also cylindrical in the upper area and conical in the lower third. The sleeve (1) closes at the top with a bead (4), while it is closed at the bottom by a closing membrane (5).
Figure 2 shows the connection of a house drain pipe to a renovated, i.e. a collecting duct containing a retracted plastic pipe. On the left side of the figure, the house drain pipe (6), which is provided with a cone (7) at the front end, was pushed into the sleeve (1) up to the stop on the end membrane (5). The house drain pipe (6) and sleeve (1) were passed through the collector pipe (8) and the plastic pipe (reliner) (9) until the bead (4) was tight against the collector pipe (8). On the right side of the figure, the house drain pipe (6) has been pushed through the sleeve (1) so that it has been pressed firmly against the pipe (9) and forms the bead (10). The protruding ends of pipe (6) and sleeve (1) have already been cut off.
The sealing sleeve according to the invention brings about a moisture and chemical resistant seal between the house drain pipe and the collecting sewer pipe. The connection is somewhat elastic and can therefore absorb any small settlements and displacements. The application of the sleeve is simple, so that it is safe Installation results are expected. The end membrane has the advantages that it can serve as a stop for the house drain pipe and also that no dirt can get into the house drain line during installation. The sealing sleeve according to the invention enables refurbishment of defective house drain lines without extensive open earthwork.
