Abstract

As a result, the lateral forces which occur on the passage of a train are absorbed by the rails and sleepers and a transverse displacement of the sleepers and of the entire track is prevented. For an optimum design of the crossbars, they can be used as a stacking aid during the transport of the steel sleepers which have been preassembled ready for laying at the manufacturer's, so that shipping timbers can be discarded. <IMAGE>
