Procédé commode de préparation d'alpha-alkylidène-gamma-butyrolactones et -delta-valérolactones. Le procédé implique la réaction de proportions sensiblement équimolaires d'une alpha-acyl-lactone, d'un aldéhyde et d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin dans un diluant inerte et à température élevée, tout en chassant l'eau.
