   Celle-ci comprend un bout d'arbre horizontal 17 , dont une extrémité pénètre dans l'axe coulissant 9 du volant 8 et dont l'autre extrémité , pénétrant dans le carter 16 , porte le pignon denté 18;  Celui-ci   engrène avec deux autres pignons, entourant tous deux le bout d'arbre vertical 19 , dont l'extré- mité inférieure coiffe l'extrémité supérieure , de section hori- zontale carrée, de l'arbre malaxeur 7; l'un , 20 , de ces pignons est monté sur le bout d'arbre 19 de façon à tourner avec lui et est garni d'une douille reposant sur l'autre pignon 21; celui-ci peut tourner librement autour du bout d'arbre 19 et est pourvu d'une douille coiffant la pièce , de section carrée , surmontant le cadre malaxeur 6; enfin , une douille 22 est montée sur l'extrémité supérieure du bout d'arbre vertical 19 ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   cadre malaxeur 6 ; lafabrication terminée , on débraie , en écar-   tant l'axe 9 de l'extrémité de l'axe 17 ; en agissant sur le levier 23, on soulève le bout d'arbre vertical 19 ,afin de   l'écarter   de l'extrémité de l'arbre malaxeur 7;

  "Tf ice cream machine.

   The object of the present invention is an apparatus for making ice cream, which is distinguished by special arrangements from similar existing apparatus.

   The inventor calls her "the Siberian".

    @
The accompanying drawings show the apparatus in its essential parts; they have two figures, of which: Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the axis of the apparatus; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the latter.

   The apparatus, placed on the table Imported by a cast iron foot, comprises the barrel 2, on the bottom of which is mounted the half-ball 3, which serves as a pivot for the tank 4, closed by its cover 5 and the inside of which are the mixer frame with vertical blades 6 and the mixer shaft with paddles 7
On the one hand, the lower cross member of the mixer frame 6 surrounds the lower end of the mixer shaft 7 and can turn around it; on the other hand / this end engages in a cavity

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 tee with a square horizontal section formed in the bottom of the tank 4, which makes the latter integral with the mixer shaft 7.

   The tank and the mixers are set in motion by the flywheel 8, carried, with its sliding axis 9 by a cast iron support, and thanks to a transmission mounted, as follows, on the uprights 10 and 11; on the one hand, fixed in the axis 12 oscillating in the upright 10, two ends of sleepers 13; on the other hand, engaged in the corner piece 14, fixed above the upright 11, two other ends of cross members; the free ends of these four cross-member ends are fixed in the housing 16, the assembly forming the transmission support cross-member.

   This comprises a horizontal shaft end 17, one end of which penetrates into the sliding axis 9 of the flywheel 8 and the other end of which, penetrating into the housing 16, carries the toothed pinion 18; This meshes with two other pinions, both surrounding the vertical shaft end 19, the lower end of which covers the upper end, of square horizontal section, of the mixer shaft 7; one, 20, of these pinions is mounted on the end of the shaft 19 so as to rotate with it and is fitted with a sleeve resting on the other pinion 21; the latter can rotate freely around the end of the shaft 19 and is provided with a sleeve covering the part, of square section, surmounting the mixer frame 6; finally, a bush 22 is mounted on the upper end of the vertical shaft end 19;

   it carries a rod end, the upper end of which is articulated to the lever 23, the latter carried by the uprights 24, fixed on the housing, and pivoting around the upper end of one of them.

   X
The operation of the apparatus is easily understood. Under the action of the flywheel 8, transmitted by the shaft 17 and its pinion 18, the pinion 20 drives, in a rotational movement in a determined direction, the mixer shaft 7 and the tank 4 - while the pinion 21 drives, in a rotational movement in the opposite direction, the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   mixer frame 6; Once the manufacture is finished, the clutch is released, moving the axis 9 away from the end of the axis 17; by acting on the lever 23, the vertical shaft end 19 is raised in order to move it away from the end of the mixer shaft 7;

   finally, after having released the angle piece 14, the transmission is tilted around the axis 12, which makes it possible to remove the cover 5 of the tank 4,
X
The main advantages of the device are as follows: thanks to the use of a half-ball joint, the rotation of the tank cannot be hindered by the presence, at the bottom of the barrel, of salts and other residues; likewise, the presence of the casing protects the gear train from dust and projections of the material to be mixed; finally the arrangements adopted make it possible to separate the gear train from the moving elements which it connects to the drive shaft, without any dismantling of the train, by simple lifting.

   X
It should be understood that the inventors consider as characteristics of their invention: the presence on the bottom of the barrel of the half-ball joint on which the tank rotates; the presence of the casing enveloping the gear train connecting the motor shaft to the moving parts of the device; the possibility of separating this gear train from these moving parts, without any disassembly by simple lifting, possibly preceded by lifting of the shaft end 19.

   It must therefore be understood that they reserve the right to carry out their invention, not only by the forms and arrangements represented and described, but also by all other forms / and arrangements compatible with the aforementioned characteristics.

   Thus, in particular: the number, shape and arrangement of the pallets of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 bre mixer can vary; the mixer frame can be replaced by another device meeting the same purpose; the mounting and arrangement of the gear train contained in the casing can be modified; likewise the shape of the housing; etc., etc.
