<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig.1 montre en élévation un étui à cigarettes en position ouverte;
Fig.2 est une coupe verticale d'après Fig.1;
Fig.3 est une coupe horizontale d'après Fig.l;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

CASE FOR TUMORS.
The present invention relates to the industry of articles for smokers and it more particularly relates to a new and improved arrangement of cigar, cigarette or cigarillo cases, which arrangement is characterized by the said case. is combined with an additional pocket integral with it and intended to house individual matches, so that these matches occupy only a very minimal width.
It has already been proposed and tried to provide the aforementioned cases with a ream of matches, held fixed to one side of the case; this device has the disadvantage that the smoker, after exhausting the string of matches, does not always find other spare.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It has also been proposed to adapt one of the external or internal faces to a pocket housing a box of ordinary matches; This device makes the case bulky due to the thickness of the box, or decreases its useful space for housing cigars or cigarettes.
In accordance with the present invention these drawbacks are eliminated by applying to a wall of the case a case preferably made of leather, the free space of which in width only slightly exceeds the thickness of an ordinary match. means such as longitudinal seams, being designed to prevent matches from falling and becoming entangled.
The piece of leather or the like forming a pocket also has an attachment means for a rubbing end, formed by part of the usual side wall of a matchbox.
The accompanying drawings show by way of example one embodiment of this invention; in these drawings:
Fig.1 shows in elevation a cigarette case in the open position;
Fig.2 is a vertical section according to Fig.1;
Fig.3 is a horizontal section according to Fig.l;
Referring to these drawings, the part 1 of the case which serves to receive the cigarettes 2 is recoverable by the part 1 which closes by the introduction of its tab 10 in a suitable notch 9; lafermeture of the case and its profile can obviously be any; thus the case can be established with two compartments, in particular for cigars, and be closed by a spring member or the like.
On the front face or compartment 1 for cigarettes is sewn a rectangular strip of leather 3, the seam is done along the side and bottom edges 4, as well as along a horizontal line 5 at an intermediate point of the height of the leather strip ; a pocket is therefore formed above the horizontal seam line, the space of which @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
free in the direction of thickness is slightly greater than the thickness of an ordinary match; matches 8 vertically juxtapose in this pocket. The match pocket also has a vertical seam line 6 towards the middle of its width, so that the match pocket is subdivided into two compartments and the matches do not cannot land in the horizontal direction.
The lower part of the leather strip has two tabs 7 sewn into it along a part of their periphery, so as to be able to slide a piece of rubbing 8, coming from a usual side wall of a box of allergies.
A slot 9 cut in the leather 3 allows the tab 10 of the cover of the case to pass through it, to close the latter.
From the above it will be understood that the thickness of the case is only increased by that of a match and that of the leather 3; the size of the case is therefore not changed by the addition of the match pocket.
On the other hand, the smoker will always have matches and a brush at hand; elements that can be replaced very easily.
It is obvious that the match bag could have a shape other than that shown in the drawing and that its raw material could be cardboard glued or otherwise fixed to the desired wall of the case. '
In addition, this invention can also be applied to conventional metal cases, in which case the match bag will be glued or fixed in any suitable manner.
