<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Apparatus for preventing milk, chocolate, cream and other boiling liquids from spilling out of their container."
The present invention relates to an apparatus intended to prevent the overflowing of milk, cream, chocolate and other liquids during their boiling.
The invention is based on the fact that the effusion of these liquids occurs by the excessive formation of vapor bubbles and the release of air bubbles within the mass at the time of boiling. The apparatus is therefore constituted in such a way as to collect these bubbles and to bring them into the open air while preventing any entrainment of liquid over the edges of the container. To this end, it consists of a collector lady, provided with one or more chimneys and notched at its base to allow the circulation of the boiling liquid in the vessel.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Moreover, the invention will be described in detail below, with reference to the single figure of the appended drawing, which represents, by way of purely indicative and non-limiting example, an embodiment of the invention.
The apparatus is shown in perspective, in a container with the front wall supposedly removed.
Referring to this figure, it can be seen that the device consists of a dome or a collecting cap 1, for example in the shape of a hemisphere and whose base has approximately the diameter of the bottom of the container 4. This cap is pierced by one or more orifices 2 surmounted by one or more tulel chimneys 3. The lower edge of the cap has a series of notches or notches 5 allowing free circulation of the liquid. the operation of the device is as follows:
At the boiling point, almost all of the air and vapor bubbles formed in the mass are collected in part 1 and brought outside through the chimney (s) 3.
The entrained liquid flows over the edges of these chimneys and as the bubbles mix with the atmosphere, this liquid flows to the outer surface of the apparatus and falls back into the vessel 4. It enters the traffic thanks to the passage openings 5.
The apparatus can be made in all the dimensions appropriate to its use and will be made of any suitable materials, among which may be mentioned enamelled sheet, tinned iron and copper, aluminum, etc. Its weight must be sufficient to prevent it from being carried away by the upward force of the bubbles.
It must also be understood, moreover, that the embodiment described above is in no way limiting and that the same principles of construction can be applied in very many ways; for example, the collector can be reduced

to a simple frustoconical collar with or without chimneys 3 and have roughly the shape of an inverted funnel, etc. the field of the invention extending generally to all devices of this category, in which the air bubbles formed in the boiling mass are collected by a collector and brought to the atmosphere by means of suitably constructed chimneys.
