Nous soussignés, de DIDRIX Georges et PAYEUR Joseph demeurant respectivement à UCCLE N 23 Rue Gattide Gamond , et à ST.JOSSE TEN- NOODE, 74 Rue Verte-,demandons un brevet d'invention pour un ensemble d'appareil cinématographique que nous dénommerons " CINECLAIRE" et que nous décrivons et définissons ci - après .
DESCRIPTION DU CINECLAIR. L'ensemble est formé de trois parties distinctes qui sont 1 )E l'appareil de projection cinématogra- phique ou autre qui sera un appareil de commerce dit à lumière froide ; 2 ) d'une chambre noire de la forme d'une pyramide tronquée.fermée des quatre côtés latéraux ainsi que sur la face postérieure par une matière opaque, noire de préférence .
La face postérieure sera percée de deux fenêtres affectées l'une à l'introduction de l'objectif de l'appareil de projection , l'autre, la surveillance par l'opérateur de la projection sur l'écran ; 3 ) d'un écran en glace parfaitement unie et spéciale- ment dépolie sur lequel seront vues par transparence les images projetées. Cet écran fera copps avec la chambre noire décrite plus haut et formera la face avant de la pyramide tronquée .
L'appareil pourra être en maténaux flasques ou rigides, être fixe ou démontable en tout en en parties; être suspendu ou posé sur un support fixe ou mobile suivant les possibilités ou les faci- lités que l'on aura pour sa mise en place, pour le transporter ou le remiser .- Les dimensions peuvent varier à l'infini et seront appropriées à l'endroit où le CINECLAIR sera employé ainsi qu'à l'usage au- quel il sera destiné . - LE BUT DE L'INVENTION:
est de permettre de faire des projections lumineuses dans un lieu éclairé, soit par la lumière solaire,soit par la lumière artificielle et ce,sans être obligé d'avoir re- cours à la salle obscure communément employée . -

Ce procédé permettra GRACE A LA PROJECTION SUR GLACE DEPOLIE de donner des séances cinématographiques ou des projections lumineuses d'une luminosité parfaite dans une salle d'école ou de conférences, dans un jardin public etc .. etc ......
en laissant les spectateurs et l'opérateur en pleine lumière d'où surveillance facile et parfaite.- L'emploi de la lumière froide rendu possible par la PROJEC- TION SUR GLACE DEPOLIE permet en outre ,sans danger d'incen- die, l'arrêt d'un film cinématographique à un endroit quel- conque devant la source lumineuseservant à projeter les images et,de ce fait,de permettre à l'opérateur de conféren- cier spécialement sur tel ou tel passage d'un film en tenant celui-ci sous les yeux du spectateur; ceci peut être intéres- sant pour la publicité commerciale lumineuse qui est égale- ment un des buts du CINECLAIR . - CARACTERES DISTINCTIFS:
1 Projection à effectuer au moyen d'un appareil cinématographique ou de projection à lumière froide qui ne nécessite pas l'installation d'une cabine préservative contre l'incendie. 2 ) Passage des rayons lumi- neux de la projection depuis leur-sortie de l'objectif jusqu'à l'écran dans une chambre noire.- 3 ) Projection par transparence d'une grande luminosité sur un ECRAN EN GLACE DEPOLIE AVANTAGER : il Suppression de la salle obscure . 2 ) Danger d'incendie exclus y surveillance facile des spectateurs , 4 ) faible consommation de lumière électrique et 5 ) appa- reil pour projection fixe ou filmée Fait au domicile de l'un de nous, le quinze Décembre 1900 et vingt-sept .

We, the undersigned, of DIDRIX Georges and PAYEUR Joseph residing respectively at UCCLE N 23 Rue Gattide Gamond, and at ST.JOSSE TEN- NOODE, 74 Rue Verte-, are applying for a patent for a set of cinematographic apparatus that we will call " CINECLAIRE "and which we describe and define below.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CINECLAIR. The assembly is formed of three distinct parts which are 1) E the cinematographic or other projection apparatus which will be a so-called cold light commercial apparatus; 2) a dark room in the form of a truncated pyramid. Closed on the four lateral sides as well as on the rear face by an opaque material, preferably black.
The rear face will be pierced by two windows assigned, one to the introduction of the lens of the projection apparatus, the other, the operator's supervision of the projection on the screen; 3) a perfectly smooth and specially frosted glass screen on which the projected images will be seen by transparency. This screen will copps with the darkroom described above and will form the front face of the truncated pyramid.
The device can be made of flanged or rigid materials, be fixed or removable in all parts; be suspended or placed on a fixed or mobile support according to the possibilities or the facilities that one will have for its installation, to transport it or to store it. - The dimensions can vary infinitely and will be appropriate to the The place where the CINECLAIR will be used and the use for which it will be intended. - THE PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION:
is to make it possible to make light projections in a place illuminated, either by sunlight or by artificial light, without having to resort to the dark room commonly used. -

This process will allow, THANKS TO THE PROJECTION ON DEPOLISHED ICE, to give cinematographic sessions or light projections of perfect brightness in a school or conference room, in a public garden etc ... etc ......
leaving the spectators and the operator in full light from where easy and perfect surveillance.- The use of cold light made possible by PROJEC- TION ON DEPOLISHED ICE also allows, without danger of fire, the 'stopping a cinematographic film at any place in front of the light source serving to project the images and, therefore, to allow the operator to speak specially on a particular passage of a film while holding the one - here under the eyes of the spectator; this may be of interest for luminous commercial advertising which is also one of the goals of CINECLAIR. - DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERS:
1 Projection to be carried out by means of a cinematographic or cold light projection device which does not require the installation of a fire protection cabin. 2) Passage of the light rays of the projection from their exit of the objective to the screen in a dark room. - 3) Projection by transparency of a great luminosity on a DEPOLISHED ICE SCREEN ADVANTAGING: it Removed the dark room. 2) Excluded danger of fire and easy monitoring of spectators, 4) low consumption of electric light and 5) apparatus for fixed or filmed projection Made at the home of one of us, on December fifteenth, 1900 and twenty-seven.
