Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  Heat exchangers for steam boilers.

   The subject of the present invention is a system of exchanger bundles, intended for example for heating high pressure boilers by means of indirect steam at a pressure slightly higher than that of the boiler.

   Its aim is to eliminate all the drawbacks of the differences in expansion inherent in the heat exchangers used hitherto and makes it possible to ensure for the condensed or cooled fluid a sufficiently steep flow slope, so that a large area of the exchanger is always free of condensation water.

   It consists of providing two superimposed collectors communicating with each other, distinct or in one piece, and connected to bundles of tubes constituting the exchanger proper, these tubes possibly being produced in the form of loops. This combination of an exchanger bundle with two communicating collectors makes it possible to prevent the flow in the tubes of the fluid condensed in the upper manifold, the condensed fluid in fact descending directly from the upper manifold.

 in the lower manifold.

   In addition, to give the best slope to the tubes and to ensure that this slope has the greatest regularity, these tubes are bent, at their change of direction in a horizontal plane or in a slightly oblique plane, so as to measure the fluid continuous flow.

   The description which will follow with reference to the appended drawing, given by way of example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

   Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of a boiler provided with several exchangers, produced in accordance with the invention.

   Fig. 2 is a cross section.

   Fig. 3 is a view on a larger scale of an exchanger.

   Figs. 4, 5 and 6 show in elevation and in plan the bending of a tube.

   The two superimposed collectors a and b which can be separate or in one piece (fig. 3) communicate with each other by a vertical duct or by a simple hole, so that the water of the water and steam mixture which arrives in a thus that the condensation water from the collector a can flow into the collector b without passing through the tubes constituting the exchanger itself. These tubes such as c are arranged in the form of a loop and connect the collector a to the collector b.

     As shown in figures 1, 2, 4 and 5 the tubes c are preferably bent at their ends c1 in a horizontal, 7, ontal or slightly oblique plane (fig. 6) so as to give them the maximum slope to ensure the better flow of the condensed liquid inside them.

   It is easily understood that the expansions of the same tube c starting from a manifold at d to end at the other manifold e, have no influence on the manifolds, because these two branches of the same tube dilate. also, since they contain a fluid always at the same temperature or approximately, in all its parts and heat in normal mode.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 water ill at a constant temperature, and in any case uniform throughout its mass.

   The fluid condensed in the various coils c after having given up its heat to the water contained in the drum t is routed through the collector b towards the outlet tube s.

  The greatest efficiency of the oblique beam is thus obtained, which for a horizontal drum, it is necessary to arrange generally in a horizontal manner (fig. 1 and 2).
